I scheduled a break to come home during the WSOP this year, and it is now something I might have to do every year. I’ve been home for 6 days just relaxing and spending time with family and I could not feel more refreshed or ready to get back to Las Vegas and win some money! I head back on the 24th and will be playing the Monster Stack, another $1500, the Little Drop and of course the Main Event.
The first half of the trip went fairly well. I managed to make a run in my very first event of the summer, which was the Millionaire Maker. I drew a tough table on Day 2 with a Circuit Grinder with tons of experience as well as two online sickos Jcamby33 and LuckyChewy. I played a big pot with Chewy right off the bat and ran my stack from like 40,000 to 55,000. I ran it up a big more to almost 60,000 when I lost a flip to jcamby33. After that I never really got anything going and just ended up getting coolered for my last 12bbs. But it was nice to get the early cash in. Always a good confidence builder.
I played two more events after that (not counting Rio Dailys). The $1500 6max and another $1500 event. Unfortunately my runs in both of them were shortlived.
Looking forward to getting back out and getting back on the grind. Can’t even fathom what it is going to be like playing the Monster Stack and starting 600bbs deep. But I can’t wait to find out!
Make sure and follow along on Twitter @derektenbusch and keep up with the TPE Live podcasts. We’ll start recording them again as soon as I get my ass back to Vegas!

I’m following you on Twitter and trying to check the site often. It sounds like Bovada bankrolls you for live poker. Is that accurate?
Killingbird
that is pretty much accurate. I sell some action for most of my live events as well, but my share of them I bankroll with my online profits (and a small amount of live cash play).
