Hey everyone, another double “whats new” this week, and there have been some great vids to watch over the last couple of weeks, including two new pros, “looshle” and “moveslikedarvin”, a newish pro in “HurricaineJeff” and of course the Big Dog himself.
Article – Good Poker Players Copy, Great Poker Players Steal
https://www.tournamentpokeredge.com/good-poker-players-copy-great-poker-players-steal/
This week’s article comes from Killingbird, and he talks about the learning process and the different levels of thinking. I think this article is excellent and I think it is particularly relevant on this site for pros like Big Dog. It is clear that his style is extremely different to most of us, and because of that, if we ever tried to directly copy him it would be disastrous. But the great value in his videos is not to copy his style of play, but understand why it is successful and that understanding can be invaluable even if you never implement any of his style.

Justin “looshle” Pechie Premier Series – Big 22 Hand History Review
As I mentioned earlier, there is a new TPE pro, and his debut series is a hand history review of his Big 22 deep run. It starts off in the early stages, and he goes through the differences in his bet sizing in these early stages. As the review is of a tourney that was a little while ago, I like how Justin goes through his mistakes and what he would do differently now. There is an interesting hand where Justin has the Ah on a 4 heart board and he talks about how to get max value out of it. In part 2 there is an interesting spot where Justin turns second pair and discusses how to gat value, and the pros and cons of betting turn or river or both.
Bigdogpckt5′s Sunday Session Early Stages Live Sweat
The big dog is back, and it is time for a Sunday session. As he is recording he is playing a reduced schedule, but the first two tourneys he loads up are the Sunday Warmup and the 109r. His strategy in rebuys is different to a lot of people so it is interesting to see the contrasting styles. After a few rebuys it allows him to build a huge stack, but unfortunately he can’t get much going in the warmup.
Jeff “Hurricane Jeff” Romano Mixed Stakes Live Sweat
Hurricane Jeff is back for his second series for TPE. He has four tables going on Lock Poker, a $55 freezeout, $4r, $5r, and a $30 fo. He has Marc Alioto on one of his tables too, so hopefully it makes for some interesting spots. He talks about different stack sizes that can be raise-folded and how it has changed recently. I LOVE how he “accidentally” misclicks and makes it 30x instead of 3x early on with aces and gets a huge doubleup because of it. He also has thrown a $10 PLO into the mix which should be interesting. He is running really well on all of his tables which will set it up nicely for the rest of the series
TPE Theory: Expert Level Hand History Analysis
It is finally time for new TPE pro Chris “moveslikedarvin” Moon to give us his debut series, and straight off the bat he delves into the theory vids, this one on metagame adjustments.

“gigantorrr” posts an interesting hand where he has KK and finds a safe board only for the river to be an ace

Community
The TPE greatest movie poll is still in full swing, with “usedstars” doing a great job of putting up all of the threads. Unfortunately wildcard movie Dumb and Dumber didn’t win its first round match, so the whole thing is obviously rigged and there is no need for anyone to vote on the subsequent rounds. Screw you TPE community. The TPE fantasy football league is also in full swing, so check both of them out in the off topic forum

Member Scores
TPE pro betudontbet kicks off this weeks scores, with an 11th place finish in the WCOOP 10k event for $44k, unfortunately just short of the final table, but obviously a sick run nonetheless. There were some other super sick runs though. “emb” finished 5th in the UKIPT Newcastle for ₤22k. “turbulence” had a self-described “epic” week, cashing for around 8k in total, including a win in a $215 tournament for $4660. Great work! I also had a decent run myself, finishing 20th in “The Main Event” which is an Australian Pub tournament, for $3.5k
If you would like your name to be included, make sure you post in either the sweat or BBV threads.
