This week, Marc and KB continue with the Stick It to the Man series and the action heats up as Marc seems to be physically pained by some of the folds he sees. Merfinis debuts a new series which is a hand history review of member OneTime1Time’s Sunday Million final table. A new article details the fact that live tournaments have a ton of often overlooked costs and variance. Bunch of great things this week. Let’s jump right in.

Sticking it to the Man! Killingbird’s Nightly $11 with Marc Alioto
In part 3, Marc offers a recap of KB’s leaks so far. These include not opening enough and not c-betting enough. The key piece of advice I picked up in this video is that we have to make some light opens and 3-bets to see how the table is going to react. In part 4, Marc reinforces the need to have a deep enough stack before deciding to set mine and how taking a great price in the BB with hands that flop well is a must.

Merfinis does a hand history review of member OneTime1Time’s Sunday Million final table. In part 1, Merfinis examine’s OneTime’s early stage game and looks at the hands he chose to play. Afterwards, he provides a nice summary of the leaks OneTime should work on to improve. In part 2, we go from the early ante levels towards the later stages of the tournament. Again, Merfinis provides a summary of leaks. I had not seen this in many videos before and found it to be extremely helpful. It’s kinda like a table of contents for the video.

The Cost of Playing Live Tournaments is More Than You Think
https://www.tournamentpokeredge.com/the-cost-of-playing-live-tournaments-is-more-than-you-think/
The article this week covers the various costs that should be considered when deciding to play live poker. It looks at live vs online cash, live vs online tournaments, and all the costs associated with the two poker settings. The moral of the story is that it’s ok if you enjoy playing live tournaments. It’s not end of the world. That said, making sure you have an understanding of the associated variance will keep it from feeling that way.
