When we started Tournament Poker Edge back in 2010, it was out of a passion for playing poker and a philosophy of wanting to do something I loved for "a job" and not just what would provide the biggest paycheck. I knew we had a great product, a great team and, within a few months, a great community. But I can't really say I ever thought I would see our logo on ESPN.
As many of you probably saw, we sponsored Robert Salaburu at the final table of the World Series of Poker. I posted this photo on Facebook and I've looked at it a few times since just because it was damn cool to see!
Some people loved him, some people hated him…I thought he was fun to watch and played really well. Say what you will about him at the tables, I can only say that he has been a super nice and classy guy to deal with off the table. Plus he seems like he would be a blast to have a beer with.
While he certainly did not last as long as I had hoped, it was still really, really cool seeing our name up in lights! Hopefully that is the first of many more times to come.
We hope to have him on an upcoming podcast, so watch out for that.
As far as the grind goes, I have been back to playing more now that life has settled down a little bit. I've ha d a few final tables, including a 2nd place in the $33r for a little over $1K. Four figure scores are hard to come by for US players these days, so it was nice to get one under my belt!
I'm stoked to be heading to Atlantic City at the end of the month to play a few events at the WSOPC. I know a lot of other TPE pros and members are heading up there, so looking forward to seeing everyone and hopefully shipping something!!
