Really enjoying this video. Please could you talk more about your 20bb open UTG with 55? thx alot 🙂

I wouldn’t shove this from EP in a regular MTT because I wouldn’t want to be called by anyone behind me, and there are 8 players behind me. In this case, though, I covered half of the players behind me, which means that I lose much less and maybe even profit, depending on their calling ranges, if they call me. I don’t know how to calculate this exactly, but my strong hunch is that turns this into a +EV shove.

The last hand in the SCOOP 41: KTo from UTG is actually a fold with an M > 5. Equilirbium says you can ship K9s+ and KQo+ here as well as T9s, JTs and QTs+. KTo stays a fold until you sit in the Hijack! What do you think about these shoving ranges?
Imo the fact that you are in a KO torunament doesn’t change ranges. The reason for that is that you might get called lighter, so you could justify shipping lighter, but on the other hand if stay tigher you will be more likely to get called by worse and have a good chance to double up if you have a good holding. Is this thinking flawed?
Btw: Thanks for this very interesting live sweat. I’d like a ~5:1 ratio of hand-history/theory vs. live sweats, something like that. 😉 Also great suggestion to fire up zoom-cash when late in a tourney and left with only a few tables.

Thanks, Sen. I think the most important point you’re missing is that I cover several players at the table. Shoving and having one of those players call with AK or QQ is a lot less bad than it would be in a regular tournament, and having one of them call with AJ or AQ is downright good.

Hi Andrew! Thanks for all the great videos you have posted here. Have really been helping my game!
Wondering when you, at 41.00, say that if you where a lot deeper A9s would be a much better 3beting hand. Is that because if you’re a lot deeper you can extract more chips if you get the nuts, like a flush? It could also be that you want to build a pot, when you’re so deep, so when you do hit the nuts it’s easier to build a big pot on the river if he calls you with AK or big pocket pairs?
Wondering why you think it’s better. Thought a bit about why that could be 🙂
Thanks again!
