Hi Jase! When i looked at the same stats as you. I had a bb/100 number around +20 without a filter. When i started to put in more filters, i still had a bb/100 winrate over 18 at all times mostly. I dont seem to be winning and crushing as much as i am supposed to do. What are some other things i might be failing at when i have this winrate on “paper” but not in real life. Great video btw!!

Hi JET! Great question! 20bb/100 is a really solid winrate no matter what stakes youre playing, so you must be doing something right. First of all, how big is your sample size? I would say you’d want to be looking at a sample of close to 100, 000 hands to get a true indication of your long-term winrate.
A few factors to consider – as you probably know MTTs can have insane variance, so even if youre crushing the games in terms of bb/100, it’s still very possible to have long downswings/breakeven stretches. If youre playing low-buyin, massive-field MTTs, this variance is obviously magnified even more and will take thousands of games to realize you’re true roi. So my biggest recommendation would be to add in more games with lower variance into your schedule – play more SNGs, MTTSNGs, and lower-field MTTs if possible.
Another factor you may want to consider is your play at FTs and bubble spots as ICM often dictates deviating from the most +chipEV plays. In these instances, the most +chipEV plays will be costing you real dollars in the long-term.

Thanks alot for a quick and great answer! My sample size is over 150k so like you said, i must be doing something right. Great tips, i will make sure to play more small field MTTs aswell as going over some hand histories when i run deep and play at some FT’s.
