Thanks Bigdog.. I play mostly micro and low stake mtt’s. I think strategy at these levels greatly differs from high stakes. When I enter a 10$ multi, I rarely see a familiar face and have no reads. It seems like your reputation and quality of opponents greatly dictates your play. I feel the 3 bet marginal shove is less effective at lower levels because play is more straight forward – would you agree? Would you recommend playing tighter at smaller stakes? Thank you

chech these plays are still affective at lower limits although you will get called a bit more and wider , you just need to adjust the hand ranges you make your moves with and the players you do them on. and players still tighten up in the later stages. these plays still work well just try to have a hand that may flop well so when u are called.you will lose from time to time but rember the times you are called and suckout and go on to win the game,

ALSO BIGDOG, i liked the video id love to see 1 like this on the sqeeze play with stack sizes ect, when to when not to hands you might sqeeze with ect ,types of players you might sqeeze on and some you might avoid ,

    EXCELLENT VIDEO.

Learnt a lot and I would love to see videos on when to C bet and when not to.

Also, the late stages on post flop play would be great with many different situations.

Bigdog u’re the man! Nice video again! Thnks! yeap to watch c-betting, river bluffs, also I’d like to see double bareling (firing)!

Casey,in a few of your vids the left margin that we see is cutoff so we can’t see the stacks of the 6 and 7 seats. It happened in this one at the 2:10 mark where the screen seemed to zoom in and the margin was lost for the rest of the vid.

Great content, love the bigdog vids.

Ya I noticed that as well Deal. I am sorry still learning all the secrets of camtasia. I will def try and figure this out. P.S. Your hh review is coming. I just have alot on my plate. But I am getting to it I swear.

Question about the KQ hand. You said you wouldnt have opened it with roughly 20BBs and no antes. What about if you were in the cutoff or button, its a premium from those positions? I would assume in those position you would open shove, also SB vs BB. Or is my thinking off?

I agree with the 2nd commenter. This is all good stuff but it is not so effective at low stakes donkey micros. I just shoved 20 BB’s with AK suited over a moron that poker tracker had folding 50% of the time to 3 bets and the idiot called off with 99. Thats freaking terrible and I don’t see those types of marginal calls for 20 BB’s in the higher stakes. Micro donks don’t know what fold equity is or what stack sizes mean. All they know is level 1 poker and that is what cards are in their hands and they just click click click.

Quesion about the 1st KQ hand…. I understand the read u have on dareutocall and u guys historry together, but what about the the rest of the table who is acting in front of u. U never mentioned any reads on those players. There were four players left and electing to 3bet shove KQo is a bit chancy. Is this a +EV in the long run. To me it seems the players to act in front of u would have an influence on ur move to 3bet shove.

Great video very instructional. Learned so much. Fantastic coaching and explanation of concepts. This guy is the real deal!!

bzizzle44 – If you see an open, then 3 bet shove, it looks pretty strong most of the time and the guys behind him would really have to wake up with a biggie to play along imo. It’s always easier to raise then to call a raise and I bet some of the time he’s getting hands equally good or better to fold.

I could be way off but many times I would have opened myself but because of the action in front of me I’ve had to fold.

great video, I find it difficult to shove a hand like 83o and that’s definitely something for me to work on, very well explained concepts, thanks!

Big Dog…Awesome video! I PMed you a while back on pocket fives asking if you made training videos and you told me that something was in the works. I was waiting for that day and very glad that it has come. I realized that from this video that i need to be looking to 3-bet shove early aggressive deeper stack openers. I think that I have resorted to using this play usually from the blinds or button against late opens. It seems now that players are open stealing from earlier positions and that there should be great spots to 3 bet shove them. You did a great job in this video of exploiting these spots!

I would love to see a replayer video in the future of light 3-betting and 4-betting with deeper (over 30bb stacks). I feel like my game is lacking in this area and that if I can learn to recognize the dynamics for these situations I can take my game to the next level.

Good video. You probably know this by now, but in Camtasia just click off of the Smart Focus option when adding the Camtasia File to the timeline and resize.

  14. joekush80

great video for me as i rarely would ever three bet shove without a real hand but now i think i can add this weapon to my game especially on the bubble

  15. drunk_bunny

thank goodness, someone else mentioned the cut-off screen. I was beginning to think I needed to buy a new ‘puter.

good explanations from dog here. some of the coaches mutter and stumble and “uhh” and “umm” and “you know” waaaay too much – can be umm, well, you know, like *very* annoying

  16. xtremeungar

Awesome theory vid.. Thanks a lot…. would love to see a vid about when to c-bet or not as someone else mentioned and also just on flop play/ when to double barrel when called on the c-bet etc/// Thanks again

    Big dog:
good job with the themed videos, I think it is a great complement to live sweats, and a better way to learn the basics. keep em coming! Question:
How do you balance your range when you have 15-25 BBs? you mention that you would not shove with premiums at some point, doesn’t that make it easier for your opponents to discard the premium part of your range? Also is there a spot for calling? say AKo or TJs?

  18. _TheCubanDude_

Loved it, real valuable indite into your game.
Would love to see a vid on OPENING RANGEid &S early, mid & late stages of an MTT. Keep them coming.

  19. PapaCheese

Theory? Shouldn’t there be some solid math explaining the reason for 3-betting? This is just a replayer vid.

  20. Madis

So what would you do with AA/KK as you said within the first hands, i think it was when button raised and u reshoved with 67o.
    Very good video btw !

  21. DoGGz

This video hardly explains anything. Is bigdog going to be over my shoulder and telling me when he feels our opponent is weak and I should shove? Because all I learned is that he has good intuition and good players are able to wager all their chips without a hand preflop.

This video needs to be redone with real math and better explanations.
