I thought the World Series of Poker circuit event in Cherokee, NC might get some pretty good fields because of the lack of other events in a huge radius of the event. But even I could not have predicted the numbers they got in the early events! With that in mind I decided to head over here early and add 4 more events to my schedule for a total of 6.
I played my first tournament today (a $365 NLHE) and never really got anything going. I never got over starting stack until the 250/500 level, but by the end of that level I was relatively short again and shove about 15 BBs over a late postion open with 88. He woke up with JJ and I was on my way to the rail. Regardless, it was a fun event and I enjoyed playing some live poker again.
Tomorrow's event is going to be a blast. It's a $365 6-max event and I have to assume it will be pretty soft. Will depend alot on table draw though, as there certainly are a fair share of good players here.
I'm trying not to get too far ahead of myself, but am also REALLY stoked about the main event. Can't wait to see how many runners that one gets. Should be an amazing tournament.
I've already ran into a few Tournament Poker Edge members, but I know more of you are here! So hit me up and let's grab a beer. I found a bar in the casino that has 6 craft beers on tap…you don't find that in every casino!

Good stuff. Any glitches that you could see? They’ve been legal for live dealers since August but haven’t had anything to announce until this circuit event brought dealers in.
Even if I don’t make this event, I’m excited to have live tables within 4 hours of the ATL.
Good luck!

no real issues so far. Some people have been complaining about the Cherokee dealers (as opposed to the ones flown in by the WSOP) but I have not really noticed any terrible dealers. A few a little slow, but nothing to really complain about. So far anyway!

I saw an issue or two with those dealers not counting the pots correctly. I’ll be back up there later today.
