Nate, Steve Barton here. Welcome to TPE! Loving your videos. I agree with everything you’ve said so far. Great analysis, I like the way you go through your thought process and explain everything. Makes it easy to follow along. I was settling down to sleep while I was watching your video, and after watching hand 2 with KK, I had to sit up and write down my thoughts.
Right off the bat when villain checks for the third time on the river, I really like a value bet on the river. Yeah, you’re right, he could have checked an Ace or a set down, but I think it’s unlikely. Maybe if he had you pegged exactly on a hand like 99-KK? I could see myself doing that in his shoes. But I also think you could get called when villain has 77, 99-KK, 78, 89, and maybe 55?
Into a pot of 4150, I would throw out 1100-1500. Just getting a tad bit more. He could bluff raise you here and you have to fold. But I think he is calling with any pair here. You got to see the villain in person and live so you know better than me, but when I was watching this my brain was saying, “This is a great value bet for the river.”
Thanks for the videos!
~Steve

Steve: thanks for the comment! As I mentioned, I’m not sure this is a good hand to check three times. I was largely influenced by the fact that my range was tight, his was wide, and that he’d suspect me of having a tight preflop range. But you might well be right that he’d get curious with any pair; if that’s right, I should indeed bet.
