Well it was a long couple of days on the tourney circuit for me and all I have to say for my performance is I have gotten better at throwing bricks. I have bubbled or near bubbled a dozen tourneys in the last 3 days and it hurts. I forgot how badly it sucked to brick like crazy. But gotta get back on the horse. I have found that since BF and not playing nearly as much with as much selection tourneys have gotten a little harder to select and the impact of bricking seems to be affecting me more than it has at any point prior. I guess I'm going to have to dig a little deeper and see if I can move through this. That little gripe aside if you haven't been following the WSOP you have been missing some of the best Tournament play in a long time.
************* SPOILER ALERT ************************
If you haven't watched the $50k Players Championship or failed to follow any updates/Tweets from the players you have missed an incredible tournament. I am not the biggest Phil Helmuth fan, and I have certainly been critical of him in the past, but I have to say that his play yesterday at the FT was nothing short of a redefined Phil. He has played phenomenally this Series and if you get the opportunity to watch when ESPN rebroadcasts, do it. His 2nd place finish was frustrating for sure, but his play was nothing short of dominant and exciting. His raw aggression was a style that I don't ever recall seeing from him and it was refreshing. If he can hold himself together mentally to his Main Event start I think you are going to see another very deep run from the brat.
************************ END ****************************
Anyhow, sorry for the short update, but throwing bricks isn't all that exciting to talk about. I learn a lot from them, but it doesn't make for interesting conversation. Tonight is an off night and time to study how to approach improving my play in these fast structure tourneys and we'll see what happens. This is the Gman signing out for now!
