This topic is going to seem a little random, but I thought it was a really important discussion point and it has made a difference in my game. My wife put me on Weight Watchers(r) a little while ago (feel free to get the chuckling out of your system now so we can continue smoothly). Anyway I wasn't interested at the time but I did it to be a supportive guy. What I ended up doing is finding out a couple of very interesting things as I make my way though the process. First, tracking what I was eating was insightful to say the least, I found that I was jamming a lot of junk down my throat and it was helping to expand my waistline. So as I have navigated the process I have added a lot more fruits and vegetables into my diet (zero points baby!) and I have noticed something interesting, I feel better. I am more alert, focused, awake and ready to play. I have started drinking a lot more water with this and my body is feeling a lot better and in connection so is my mind. In poker your mind is the organ that will make all the difference and I have noticed that it is the athlete in the sport. You have to train it through learning and study, but you also have to take care of him. Feed him well, keep him fit and happy and he will pay you pack in tangible dividends. So that being said, I am not advocating jumping into a weight loss program, but what may be a very interesting thing to study is make a journal and write down all the things you eat in a day and when you eat them. After a week or two read through it, I'll bet it is enlightening. I know I learned a lot about myself and my health and the small changes I have made are helping me feel better, focused and overall a lot more like me which is translating into money on the tables. Something to think about. This is the Gman signing out!
