Hey Jase,
Early in the video where you flat AQo from the BB with 30 bbs, I thought about a similar situation I have trouble with. You say you don’t like the flat and we should be three betting to get it in at that stack depth, which I totally agree with. So let’s say instead of flatting you had three bet, maybe to 1100 (the opener made it 375 at 75/150 no ante). Then the button flats you. The flop is the same, K53r. What’s your move here? I have a LOT of trouble with this spot and this stack depth. I find that a cbet only makes hands I want to play with fold, but then if I check I find myself calling off with ace high because I don’t want to give up. The SPR is only about 1.5 or less at that point so I have difficulty folding any flop, but then this example will come off, I’ll stack off and see KJ and go of course he had KJ, shouldn’t I be using that extra ability to see the flop before stacking off to fold bad ones?
Anyway, thanks for your thoughts. Much appreciated and good video!

Thanks for your feedback and questions rb. Upon thinking about this hand further, I don’t mind the flat call as much pre-ante. I still think I prefer to 3bet vs most opponents but don’t think flatting here is a mistake. I also think we should be 3-betting to a little bit bigger sizing oop (1200-1300, instead of 1000-1100). After 3-betting and getting flat-called, on this particular board (very dry board that hits our range better then his) I like betting very small (1/4 pot or so) at this SPR with a lot of our range, including AQ. I don’t like check/calling or check/raising here, so I think AQ is one of the hands we want to turn into a bluff – and our cbet should get lots of folds as I think our opponent has a very narrow continuing range here (KQ, KJ, KTs and sometimes KK,AA). And of course, betting small also gives us room to fold if we get jammed on.

33,20 33 you’re getting less than 10 to 1 especially since you put the money in for the sb. I don’t understand why you fold all these small pocket pair with proper set mining odds, do you have ptsd with these hands? Example… 5,45 55 and 24,40 77… 41,47 44?

I don’t think we’re enough implied odds to set mine in any of the hands you mentioned. I think we could justify opening the 44, but I prefer folding all the other spots with us having 30bb or under.
