I usually minraise live, too. I’ve been rethinking raise sizing a lot and will be writing an article about varying raise sizes based on position for my next article. It seems to not make much sense to 2x utg and also 2x from button. And yes, I agree, minraising seems weird when you’re a million bbs deep, it’s more like a limp really…then again, 3x’ing it won’t change most players’ decisions to play the hand or not when so deep, so I’m not sure it really matters.

I actually thought about it after and decided I probably shouldn’t cbet at all against 3 players with that hand. It’s so likely that someone has a semi-bluff hand they can raise with against an ep preflop raiser bc I’m so unlikely to have a hand I can continue with – I’m much more likely to have 2 big cards or pairs that don’t love that flop. Although when I do cbet against that many players, I want to make a bet that doesn’t look so “stabby” and looks like I might have a hand I can go with. I think 750 there is ok, but I think just check/folding is a better line by far.

Thanks for the comments and questions, guys. It’s my first video ever, so I really do appreciate comments/questions/constructive criticism so I can improve on it for the next series.

but by 3x or 4xing doesnt the river pot size growth become expotential, since our bet sizing on each street grows? i mean yea it wont change their calling ranges but most of the time our range dominates theirs (early position or steals v button flats) or we have position (steals v blind defends).

hmmm thats interesting, i always cbet smaller multiway, both as a bluff and for value. does your cbet size increase multiway or is it solely based on board texture?

  6. JamieAnn

definitely depends on board texture, but I don’t make a lot of small cbets into muliple players unless I’m trying to induce a raise out of someone spewy or something. Small cbets tend to just inflate the pot and don’t narrow down the field enough.

yeah it all depends on what your motivation is for raising. Because I want to keep my raise sizing consistent, and I’d like to play tons of hands like suited connectors and small pairs (which are great multi-way) when blinds are low, I just decided to always minraise every hand I open from AA to 46s.

Raising 3x when blinds are low and moving toward 2x later in the tourney would also be fine, it’s just a matter of choice/style.

did you check a shove chart on the KTo utg?
im pretty confident with my turbo game and i think i fold there too, but im not sure if its correct?

  9. KIClark

good stuff, cheers for the vid
you mentioned about study shove charts, i have been lazy in this regard relying instead on intuition
can you recommend the best place to find these charts?

Jamie, try looking for the option to set your primary seat for 6/9/10 handed tallies in HEM2, then your HUD should stay in the right spots once you organize one last time.

The KTo was a good fold. KQo is the bottom of the Nash range.

I noticed how much more friendlier TPE is than 2+2 also. This really feels like a helpful community. I haven’t been flamed or threatened once.
