Thanks for another great series Matt. You are really helping me tune up my technical game, particularly with regards to ICM considerations. One thing I will say, and this is not necessarily specific to this series, is that lets not forget that this game is a) played by imperfect humans (not just us but our opponents) b) because of a) we need to leave some room for creative plays and meta game adjustments. In this age of databases, advanced analysis tools ect I think we can loose sight of these things. For example the 3 handed QTo hand that you 3bet shipped v BTN raise, it looks pretty awful when you play it back and analyse it. But, if you had an in game read or ‘gutfeel’ about the spot and felt 90% certain villain would fold to a jam then in my book it was the right play. Not only are you taking down a decent pot there and then, you are setting up a more aggressive image that might pay greater dividends later on. If you are called it sucks, but at least you have a hand that can flop strong.
