Hey Everyone,
We are in the process of putting together a “Getting Started at TPE” guide and I wanted to ask you guys – what are the best videos on the site and why? Would love to hear your opinions on where new members should start and what videos are vital to improving.
Thanks!
RFB
The first video I watched was Big Dog's Sunday Warmup deep run. That opened up a whole new world of poker for me, but I wouldn't advise trying to emulate him until your hand-reading skills are as good as his. For me, it helped more in understanding what some of the better LAG opponents I come across are doing in certain spots.
Mike Leah's WCOOP series (both the ME HH review and the live sessions) is probably a great place to start, as it shows someone playing technically perfect poker and explaining in great detail why they are doing what they're doing.
Also found Daryl Jace's $75K Final Table HH a great learning experience. Some of the concepts he covers are really advanced, and you certainly benefit from watching it more than once (same with all of the vids here). He does an awesome job of explaining how to range people and hand read.
Brendoor's first series was also great, and was really helpfully psychologically, as it shows how even the best players are at the mercy of variance.
And if you play turbos, DannyN13's live sweat is great. Helped me fix a bunch of leaks I had in turbos and he explains stack sizes and ranges really well.
Bigdog and wein sticking it to killingbird oddly helped me a lot. It fixed a lot of my leaks, since I used to play like he did in that video, which wasn't too great (sorry KB no offense!)
Also, Marc Alioto's DON video helped me, as I play fifty50s a lot. I've also seen every single one of Bigdogs videos, and his agressive style is just pure sickness. His turbo WCOOP video improved my turbo game, and I'm looking forward to the TCOOP now.
Got alot out of the bigdog video with Marc Alioto for the questions that was presented. There was a lot of theory of why he takes certain spots is good. I also like the HITTHEPANDA 180. The DON's series from Marc Alioto.Hitting it to the man series are really good too.

i'd say
-theory vid 3b shove
-theory vid having a plan
-and theres a theory vid of rfb and hagbard about the fundamentals i think
-all mike leah vids ( for starters maybe the midstakes series most)
-ttwist riding the shortstack
-and of course all the bigdog vids
At first glance I thought that said “ttwist riding horseback”.
Sounds like we need to line him up for a theory video.
Yep – anything Mike Leah has made b/c he plays such perfect poker… and everything bigdog puts up too b/c he is such a BOSS!!
I havent actually watched any of daryl's vids since the very first one and found it quite high level thinking which is something for everyone to be aware of when loading it up

lol dont you mean round me up?
I think best videos for begginers are theory vids and SITTM videos – those helped me the most imo. If I'd have to choose one vid that opened my eyes the most, it'd be probably Bigdog's video on early stages. I realized there how important your image at the table is and also that you don't have to play agg early. Also I loved almost all live sweats, especially Wein's, Bigdog's and Danny's live sweats.
Hello Guys, I'm new here and just looking for a topic like this!!!
Im trying to improve my game and its will help me a lot.
Any vids sugestions for endgame play??
I think Im just playing some spots wrong and need to correct my leaks.
Overall I hav a very huge ITM percentage, 19% in 2,1K games but only 14%ROI and
my recent scores, last 400 MMT, scoring 18%ITM with 26% negative ROI
Can someone sugest some good videos for end game??
Thanks 4 all !!!
PS.: Sorry about my poor english, not my primary language….
Bigdogs early videos are the whole root to the site. The ultimate teaching a agression. Then as far as thinking game and explanation of what when where and why? Mikes go leaf go wcoop main event is the 2nd best video on the site bar none! I applied mikes thining game and raising sizing technique with bigdogs agression and immediately started shipping tourneys all over…thanks guys. best new pros are jace and warrington…great explanations, lines of thinking…..this place really does own.
Ah that was a good one…our first mixed games series. It's been a while (came out on 4/1) but I think it's still relevant. I urge everyone to check it out.
