Thought a thread on this would be good. I'm sure there will be plenty of questions/comments. Thought this video was one of the better ones in TPE Theory section.
Question 1 for me…
What would a too high risk of busto % be in relation to how +cEV a shove or resteal is?
Question 2 for me…
Could you give some examples I can plug into the calculator (word problems) to insure I'm plugging info in correctly (so I can double check my work)?

We actually just added that calculation at the last minute and just kinda made up that stat so i have no historical perspective on it. Hag might have a suggestion but I don't really have a history. I will be checking it out a lot though so I'll probably get a feel for it relatively soon.

Pause the video before we open the spreadsheet and try the examples we gave in the video and if you can get the same numbers then you're good. If you want to run a couple and post them here I can check for you.
Glad you enjoy it!
I'm keen to know what % of your stack and chips in BB is marginal/thin edge and what is not marginal at all. For example, is 5% chip addition to your stack good or marginal? Is 0.5BBs good or marginal? Any thoughts? I'm trying to put together a push/fold spreadsheet using your spreadsheet to work out good spots to shove so would like to know how much of an edge we need when shoving.

EDIT. you mention this when using the spreadsheet a bit later, and you say that when doing it by hand you usually dont account for the fact that there are 2 people left to act. looks like i should have just kept watching the video for 5 minutes more 😛 i dont think its that hard to tweak the maths even if you are doing it by hand.
Hey,
I am watching the MTT math video at the moment, and i think there might be a mistake in the equity calculations of hand 1.
for those that might not remember, the scenario is we are on the button and we are given the option to shove or fold. in the video, the SB and BB are given calling ranges of 18.7%
in the equity calculations slide, the video states that we get folds 81.3% of the time.
from my understanding of the math, this is wrong because there are 2 people to act not 1.
if both people have calling ranges of 18.7%, then the probability that either of them calls is (1-0.187)^2 = 0.813^2 = 0.6609, NOT 0.813, so we only get folds 66.1%% of the time.
this would mean the EV calculations are now
0.661*103655 + 0.339((0.356*187060))
= 68515.955 + 22575.15
=91091.1
So stack if we fold is 90155, stack if we shove is 91091, and we go from being +EV by 6570 in chips, it is now +EV by 936, or just a bit over 1 ante.
this makes much more of a difference if we are in the cutoff instead of the button as well, because the chances that everyone folds now becomes 0.813^3 = 53.7% which is a long way from 81.3%
is this correct? please tell me if i am wrong.
PS i havent watched all of the video yet so i am not sure whether this happens elsewhere in the video.
You are correct and we address the affect of multiple players left to call later in the video (when we move to the spreadsheet for this example at ~27:50). The spreadsheet does account for multiple callers with the formula you posted above.
We thought it might be too much to start off with that formula since it's a bit more complicated.

fair enough – i wrote a big long post, then set the video going, and then i realised that you pretty much talked about the thing that i was posting about directly after 😀
