I'm going to make some videos going over a HH or two … I'll link them here when I've made them. Not sure when I'll be done with them though.

At some point I think I'd like to make videos as an instructor for a training site so this will be good practice for me to get feedback.

Looks like I need a new/better mic for recording… the audio from my current cheap one is really bad, lot of white noise. What headsets or mic's would you guys recommend for a decent price? I'd prefer a standalone instead of a headset (I like to use my Sennheiser headphones), but if its cheap enough that's fine.

Got my mic, and I'm preparing for both a theory video and a hand history review. Once I got around to actually organizing my thoughts for the theory video it was (not too surprisingly) a lot harder to verbalize than I first thought. The hand history review will be much eaiser. I want both videos to be as good as I can do them, especially the theory video in which I'm going to focus on some things I feel are 'misconceptions' or simply ideas that are slightly misunderstood or can lead to problems you might not realize. I might also talk a bit about overall mentality and ways regs can be exploited….. it all depends what I can explain coherently though.

I’d definitely be interested in the ‘misconceptions’ angle… Look forward to seeing it.

Hey guys just an update, I have like 8 (or 9?) parts completed which are 45 minutes long (lol, I know) and I'm almost done – the last part is just going to be heads up. The hand history is 450 hands so I dont think I rambled on too long but maybe I did. There were a lot of discussion points and I tried not to gloss over spots that some people might really want to hear more of an explanation on.

Can someone tell me the best way to upload? As in, should I put it on youtube and what settings in Camtasia should I use to minimize video size without destroying the quality?

without knowing your style, that sounds way too long for a hand history review.

the settings i used were just the standard, just save it as a wmv and let camtasia choose the best quality settings for you and it seemed to work really well. if you have recorded it in full hd or something then i would probably reduce the resolution though.

By style do mean my style of play or my style of review?

I definitely didn’t waste time on obvious/pointless things (and no dead air), but what I did do was spend more time on non-standard stuff and really try to explain my thought process / the ‘why’. Without that you really cant apply anything from a video… but that takes more time to get into. I also covered some hands other people misplayed that went to showdown.

That said if you think it’s ‘way too long’ I’ll re-record it and try to go quicker. Yeah I’ve already spent several hours on it but if you think its that bad I’ll try again. It’s kind of a catch 22 because if I spend time on things people dont want to hear, the video is pointless, but if I dont talk about them it makes the video less valuable.

Post it up, wasn’t having a go as I haven’t seen it. Just seems unusually long. Could be amazing for all I know, and I hope it is.

Sorry didn’t want to be seen as negative.

No worries, its just constructive feedback. And it was good that you brought that up because I was able to cut them down a little bit – now they're around 30 minutes long (but still 9 parts in total). It feels more polished and concise as a result so I'm pleased with that but that's the best I think I can do without hurting the value of the videos.

I will try to upload them later tonight because I'm flying out of town tomorrow for Christmas. I need to record the final part (HU) and that's it.

OK I got them uploaded except for the last part, which will go up later today ….. here's a link to the thread I created in the proper forum (which contains links to the individual parts):
