Great job. Publish as much as possible….can't get enough of this.
Question for Casey:
During the show, you say you never let your stack get below 20 BBs. Does this mean that when you are from 20 to 25 BBs deep, you are open shoving instead of a regular size raise?
And for Wein: YOu say that you are a little laggier in the begining of the tournament and it is a difference between you and Caseys advice. Do you think this is more a choice of personal style in playing?
Once again, do these as much as possible. Is this where we post hands for analysis for the show? Any thoughts on have one of us on to chat with you guys about a hand we submitted?
A downloadable podcast is ideal because I can listen to it while I am driving. Since I have a regualr job and girlfriend comitments, it is the best.
That was an awesome job in the podcast! Have known Derek and Diego a while and it was cool to hear their voices and thought processes vs Casey and Johns thought processes. I was listening and during a session last night and am currently on probably the worst downswing of my poker experience and have definitely developed a leak or two that were covered in this. I am guilty at times of FPS and playing my big hands too slow and this podcast covered two hands that re-opened my eyes. Didnt hurt to finish off with a 4th and a ship in my $12 45 session!

i thought this podcast was really great – its not often you see in depth strategy of hands like this in a podcast.
posting the hands to be discussed was really good, because i went through it in my head as you were talking about it, so it got me thinking about it rather than just listening.
will be eagerly waiting the next installment.
Tip for bigdog – try not to berate as much as you do – saying “this is played very badly” achieves the same thing as “the only way i would check is a misclick,” and whilst the latter is funny, it comes across as slightly arrogant.

Also, in the pocket 4's hand, what would be the bottom of your range of pocket pairs to open raise?

We are working on another podcast this week! And it is now available for DL on iTunes so check that out. Also, we will be featuring some member hands in the future (timing may depend on the topic) so feel free to post them here or simply email them to us at support@tournamentpokeredge.com
Thanks!

Really enjoyed this podcast, very informative and funny at the same time. It was good to get some information about backing which is something that I am beginning to think about – will post in forums for more clarification but great that the podcast got me thinking about this again.
Keep up the good work guys!
Great podcasts, these are going to be great.
I think the key thing from the entire 1st podcast was about the 22 vs a fish on AA7 and the point about bet sizing and how 240 does the same as 420. And if you're really worried that this is perceived as weakness, it doesn't matter if you bet your hands you are happily stacking here the same amount. Just balance. Do as much as you can with as few chips as possible. It's the same in cash games when somebody flats a 4bet 100bb deep, for instance, you will see people make cbets that are 1/8th of the pot because it's the same thing and you can do it with AA or air.
Just finished up with podcast #1, these podcasts are soo so so so great please keep em coming! So educational!
LOved the discussion of the AK vs AQ hand on the A95xx vs the “spewtard” and why betting there is so much better. Just because you want him to get aggro and bluff you doesn't mean he won't if you bluff. Think of all the times you cbet Axx with air and get check raised smallish and begrudgingly fold to the fish. 🙂
