Very excited to launch this brand new podcast from myself and Matt (theginger45). I think it is going to be a lot of fun to make, and should provide some really interesting insight in to the world of the MTT grind.
enjoy!!!
Should be up in ITunes shortly. It has been submitted but the initial review stage for iTunes can take a few days even up to a week. I suspect it will be up by the end of the week, but by early next week for sure I would think.
I'll post an update here once I get the approval email from iTunes.
Still not searchable (should be soon) but here is a direct link to it in iTunes.

pretty excited to listen to this
so in general is this going to be interviews instead of strategy? (maybe i should just listen first :D)
Yes, gnerally interviews. There will be very little strategy from the standpoint of HH reviews and stuff like that. But our hope is that the interviews won't just be “how did you get in to poker” and “what are you up to these days” but more focused on topics that can help our listeners improve their poker game. Topics such as mental game, bankroll management, studying, backing, preparing for a session, tilt control, etc etc.

listened to it today
loved the interview with mickey, he is an interesting guy. I hope you get more guests on like that
i liked ginger on the podcast, he asked good questions. at times he seemed to take all of the questions though, KB couldnt get a word in sometimes. im sure that is just because you guys were new to hosting with each other etc, and you will iron that stuff out.
one small critisicm is that sounded a lot like “thinking poker without the strategy”. and i mean this with the greatest amount of respect, but I think andrew and nate do a better job.
im sure in time you will find your groove though.
really loved it guys, looking forward to the next one.

Nice job. Primary suggestion is that Matt needs to slow down. I'm guessing it was nerves with it being the first show, but he spoke a bit fast. He needs to allow some space for responses and for KB to get invovled. Someone mentioned Thinking Poker podcast above, and one thing they are great at is allowing for “air space”, for lack of a better term, so it sounds less like an interview and more like a natural conversation. I'm sure it will improve with time.
Good first show, and looking forward to future development.
appreciate the feedback guys! we'll get better with more practice, we promise!
I think where we want to differentiate ourselves from the Thinking Poker podcast, is a bit less of a focus on the guest (which sounds bad when I type it…lol) and a bit MORE focus on what info they can share for you all to get better at what you do. Obviously we want to get background on the guest, but we really want to pull as much advice out of them as we can. I think it will take us a bit to find out stride, but we will get there!

I really enjoyed it. Im only a micro player and tend to play sats and steps to try and get in the Sunday Million. I really liked the taking shots at lesser events with smaller feilds chat. Im going to start changing some MTTS i play now.
As for Thinking Poker comparisons. The first few episodes of that were a bit rushed and sound quailty wasnt great. I think Andrew invested in a new microphone by episode 15-20. So considering this was episode one of midstakes living,i think its a solid start with some good content. For me, there can never be to many poker podcasts out there.
Plus i hate my job and i have podcasts on my headphones all day, So any new podcasts are much appreciated. As they get me through my day.

I enjoyed the podcast as I listened to it while i was heading to the casino i play. It was informative especially when talking about diet and exercise. I for one contemplate running daily. I used to and remember that my sessions were so much better when I ran at least 3 times a week. Also, I am contemplating on taking the caffiene away as well. I think every little edge you can do would be the best for the overall “life EV” game.

Great episode – the outro had me well motivated!
You mentioned other players listeners would like to hear on the show. I would love to hear Dara O'Kearney (slowdoke on stars or daraokearney on twitter). He is an interesting guy and very eloquent. Former ultrarunning champ who made the transition to ultragrinder. Would be interesting to hear his perspective on The Firm stable he heads up, satellites which he specialises in and the game in Ireland.

Getting a lot of motivation from these podcasts. Good to hear guys back stories. I sometimes find myself saying that all the good players were born good. This podcast shows that that is not the case for many. I am not a natural at this thing called poker, but I have no problem working hard to solve a problem. There is hope for me yet. Keep the stories coming.

obvs i wanna hear marc in an episode soon!
Second this! I know he's been on the strategy podcast several times but I think it would be cool to hear more about his background and some strat/BRM stuff/game selection/etc. You'll probably have to throw together a bigdog soundboard so you can sprinkle in the occasional berating, just wouldn't be the same without it

Great job, guys. Marked imporvement already from the first episode. Compliments to Matt on being much better at letting guest finish sentence/thought before jumping in with question/comment. It felt much more like a natural conversation. Also, really enjoyed the discussion on session reviews and general methods of improvement.
Looking forward to next month's episode!

at some point, i think carlos would be great to have
if this show wasnt made with carlos in mind, im not sure who they were thinking of.
Would you guys be open to some of the members doing a podcast, and then we can give it to you to post up? I love the podcasts so much; but myself and other members just feel like there's one hangup … there isn't enough of them

I am thinking possibly Matt needs a better mic. It still sounds like he is talking in a can. One thing that I have heard that if he doesn't have a good mic, best place to “record” his podcast is sit in the closet with his back to his clothes. It sounds silly but it does work.

Hey guys,
Somehow I only just noticed that this thread existed. I guess I spend too much time in the strategy parts of the forums!
Thank you for the feedback, I speak really fast naturally so it's hard to slow down sometimes. This show is my first time doing anything like this at all so I'm still getting used to the dynamics.
As for my mic quality, I'm recording using a webcam mic, albeit a pretty high-quality one – on previous uses it's turned out okay, but I'll try to use a better mic for the next episode.
Thanks for listening! Next episode we have a guest lined up who's very well known in midstakes MTTs and around the online poker community. It'll be done around the 20th-25th April, once myself and the guest get back from vacations and Derek gets back from WSOPc.

Great interview with Jamie….I really like her coaching videos because she is very direct and crisp…no dithering. She'll just say ' that was really bad' and explain why. You can hear the disappointment in her voice…..some coaches are hesitant about giving bad news but she's not. That's how we learn. She has very clear opinions about her own play too and is very exact about bet sizing and strategy. Hope we get some more content from her
