Just thought I should post about my summer in Vegas and give TPE credit on improving my game and helping me be successful. My summer started out well, as the 2nd tournament I played was a Wynn $550. I didn’t really know what to expect as I had never played at the Wynn before, however I knew that the structure for their tournaments were phenomenal and I was sick of the Venetian. The tournament only ended up with about 50 people but I shipped it for 10.5k. The next day I decided to play in the next Wynn $550 and took 2nd in that for 7k so I was def off to a good start! I then went on to cash in Event #43 of the WSOP by finishing 162nd place for 4k. I played really well and unfortunately my table draw for day 2 was incredibly hard and I ran 1010 into KK in a very tough spot where I just couldn’t find the fold button. I then played the Binions Main Event where I had the luxury of meeting BigDog and playing with him for like 8 hours. Genuinely a good guy and I have the utmost respect for him, ya dig? I also took a few shots in the Rio daily as this tournament probably has the softest field in Vegas. They were getting around 1500 entrants which is incredible for a daily tournament. I finished 95th once when I lost an 800k pot when the average stack was 120k. Sigh. The next day I went on to finish 25th. Ugh so disappointing as 1st in this donkament was over 50k and they were chopping at the FT almost every time. I then finished 81st in WSOP Event #53 for 6k when I lost with AK to KQ aipf for a top ten stack. This one hurt. I was playing the best poker of my life and decided to take a shot in the Main Event. I decided to sell some of my action and David ODB Baker bought some of me. This was quite the humbling experience as he is arguably one of the best poker players in the world. My table draw day 1 was a dream… guys were 4-5x opening and no one really seemed competent. I dwindled most of the day as I could never hit anything and was always second best against these monkeys. I then busted in the last level of the day when I hit a straight against some dolts higher straight. The last tournament of the summer I played the Caesars Main Event and min cashed for 2.5k when I lost with AQ to AK in a standard spot. It was a phenomenal experience and I’ll certainly be back next year in the hunt for that bracelet. Thanks again TPE! This site is the blades!(new term for the nuts, ya dig?)

This sounds like a great summer for you! Still cant believe it how many deep runs you had this year. I played about 35 tourneys in Vegas in two years and ended up cashing once :)). It was also 2,5k in ceasers ME this year. Back to online grind now and will be back to take my shoot next year :))

It's runs like this that make me envious and inspired at the same time. I know there's no reason I can't have a run like this if I play my A game consistently. I know I'm nowhere near the level of player I could be but I also know that my game is improving and I can see the results almost right away with the introduction of new thought patterns. They aren't fully ingrained yet-as I demonstrated in a $40 R/A last night busting with KQ on Q64 flop (villain had AQ). Looking back I should have known that the only calls I was going to get were AQ, 66, and 44. But in the past I would've just thought I made a stupid gamble.

I am envious though and plan to be in Vegas for next year's WSOP.
