Who's going? I'm diff going for the Main day C Monday July 8th if not sooner. I know there's the Little One drop the weds before and a $1500 starting that Friday before the Main. Really thinking of coming out for both of those as well.
What are the rest of you thinking about?

Can't wait for wsop this summer.. i'm flying out may 31st and staying at extended stay america suites for 4 nights which is a 5 minute walk from the rio.. stayed there last summer and wasn't too bad and is cheap.. bedroom with 2 beds, living room with pull out couch and a little kitchen area.. gonna play the $1,500 that guarantees $1 million for 1st and a few other events if i don't go deep in that and maybe a main event satelite or 2.. then i'm flying back out july 3rd and staying thru the main till about the 16th.. we definately need to all get together for some drinks a few nights!!!
Heading out somewhere around the 19th of June for a week or so, unless I can satty into the main in the next couple of months, then of course will change plans. It will be my first trip to Vegas, so I'm super stoked. Plan on playing a $1500 and a lot of the Rio DDS and some of the other smaller buy-in series. I also told myself if I hit a 6-figure score (or close to it) I'll quit my job and stay the rest of the series because **** jobs.
Either you will, or you won't.

This will be my first time as well. Will be there from 24 june-2july. We are two guys from Sweden (so far), going to stay at Trump International.
Going to play a 1500 event on the weekend and some smaller series. Which series has the best value during WSOP? Golden Nugget? Rio? Binion´s? Venetian? Is Wynn good during wsop? Trump is close to Wynn. Usually play a lot of live cash (aprox $3-3blinds, 200BB deep) so If someone knows the best cash-value, feel fre to tell me about it.
Venetian tourneys are great and get a good turnout and nice prizepools for reasonable buy ins. If you like smaller fields, check out the Wynn series. Really nice poker room, good staff, good food. marc and I are big fans and plan to play a few events there this summer for sure.

I'm offically BOOKED………. July 4th till July 11th minimum. 1500 on Fri 5th WSOP and the Main w/ a few smaller RIO daily's & a Venetian or two in there.
I'm getting the full experience and staying at the RIO. But I know I'll be hanging at the TPE house/Central at some point, lol. Is the ghost gonna be there this year? just curious

Venetian has released their schedule for the summer now, more events than before I think and at the Palazzio too
June 18, 2012
i talked mitch, who's also a member on TPE, to come out with me during the main event.. i recomend using expedia to anyone coming out and get your flight and hotel together.. we got a deal with both of our round trip flights on US air nonstop both ways from philly, and 13 nights at the gold coast casino which is right next to the rio for only $675 a person.. can't wait to meet up with a bunch of u guys out there!!!
**Also pumped that u booked ur trip too Pierre!!!

i agree with derek i also really like the venetian events, reasonble buy ins and big fields.. also the rio $235 daily deepstacks get huge fields as well, my buddy anythony won 1 last summer for almost $40k i think it was.. haven't played any of the other smaller series except a couple at caesars and they weren't bad either but smaller fields, except their $1k main event that starts during like day 4 of the wsop main event and has 2 starting days.. it got over 1,000 players a couple years ago when i played it

Just decided today I'm playing the Main Event for the first time this year and hard to think about much else. Booked the flight down for July 5th and haven't decided on which Day1 to play but I'd love to meet some TPE folks when I'm down there. Find me on twitter @clarke206. I've followed most of the TPE folks I can find.
side note. there is a Twitter list that contains a pretty good number of TPE pros and TPE members.
Pretty good way to keep track of everyone during the series.
Just won a package on 888poker, so 2013 will be my first WSOP! Am arriving – from Montreal – prior to the 4th of JULY.
Conveniently, accomodations to be provided by The Venetian. Looking forward to their famous Deep Stacks series.

done!
So if you listened to TPE Live last year, you probably remember us talking a lot about PTs Pub. It's a great little bar that we hung out at a lot last year. What would you guys think of doing the meetup there on June 7th?
It's off the strip…probably a 15 minute drive/cab ride from Rio or Venetian. But thought it might be fun to hang out at the place that we spent so much time at and talked about so much last year. And it gets us away from the usual scene of the WSOP where we can really hang and chat without many distractions.
Plus the bartenders there love us and always take good care of us.
Let me know what you think!

I'm booked!! 17-24 June.. I've been dreaming of going out there during the series for a long time now, and I really hope to make the most of it. Would be down to get drinks or meet up if it works out.
Awesome, once you get your tourney schedule nailed down, let us know. We tend to meet up on dinner breaks and after busting tourneys, so im sure we'll get a chance to hang.
Meet-up is confirmed.

Deeper play for the structures…just look at this comparison against the lowest buyins for WSOP and the Venetian series.
And fwiw the Rio Deepstacks are complete crapshoots at the end. avg stacks around 8bb during the bubble.

I did some analysis of these structures, using Snyder's technique for poker tournament comparison.
Patience Factor = (Blind-off time, in hours)²
WSOP 1K Turbo
t=4.33, PF=18.75
WSOP 1K
t=5.4, PF=29.2
WSOP 1.5K
t=6.2, PF=38.4
Venetian 0.6K
t=6.2, PF=38.4
Venetian 1.5K
t=8.5, PF=72.3
Needless to say, these all qualify as “pro-level” events, favoring the skillful player (threshold is PF>10).
That said, the Venetian stuctures are roughly twice as slow as the WSOP at equivalent buy-in levels.
Note the identical PF of the WSOP 1.5K and Venetian 0.6K, which means the latter is 2.5x better value per dollar.

Anyone know of some tournaments outside the WSOP for us with a smaller bankroll? Under 200 buyin would probably be the sweet spot.
Am kind of in the same boat, so I have spent some time on allvegaspoker.com comparing/contrasting the dailies and weeklies at all the various poker rooms.
Here are the best value events (besides Rio or Venetian), considering structure:
- Binions, $125+25, Sat/Sun: PF=19.4
- Bellagio, $125+25, Mon-Thu: PF=14.1
- Aria, $125+25, Mon-Sun: PF=14.1
- Binions, $80+20, Mon-Fri: PF=13.4
- Mirage, $110+10, Sat: PF=10.2
- Stratosphere, $45+20+17, Mon-Tue/Thu-Sun: PF=7.6
- Planet Hollywd, $70+19, Mon-Sun: PF=7.6
- Hard Rock, $60+16, Mon-Sun: PF=6.2
- Mirage, $60+10+5, Mon-Sun: PF=5.3
- Treasure I., $55+15, Mon-Sun: PF=4.8
I personally would skip the daily tournaments and play some of the smaller events. You get way more for you money and shots at bigger cashes.
This is a well run series and is full of fish:
Binions also has a good series:

Yeah I can vouch for this, as these are my range of buy ins atm, I stayed at the nugget last year and played in the series. Ill be there again this year the first 2 weeks of June. I can honestly say, you will not find a softer field anywhere. The binions nightly has a decent structure, and pretty good value with a super soft field if u happen to bust the nugget early. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @bbutch86 and if ur around we can chill.
The Venetian is probably the best value outside of the wsop if your br will allow it, cashed the only event I played there last year and had some table time with dannyn13 which was cool.
Will prolly get at least one wsop event in no matter what, hopin to smash a couple nugget events, and work my way up the strip. Gl nation, and hope to see everyone do big things!

Hey guys,
I'll be over in vegas for the whole series too – booked from May 25th to July 20th! All the way from NZ, a group of us are sharing a house. Haven't met up with any TPE ers but would be keen. First time for the WSOP, I was planning on grinding daily rio events and some bracelet events but after reading some of these posts maybe there are some other better options for my buy-in range. Keen to find out the best events to grind $200 – $500.
Add me on twitter @keallgranty
Can't wait for it!

Hey guys,
I’ll be in Vegas June 13th to June 17th looking to play some daily deep stacks at the Rio and the Venetian $400 on Saturday and Sunday or possibly the WSOP $1500 3 day event starting Saturday. Is there better value in the $1500 3 day event compared to a normal wsop $1500?
Hope to run into some TPE members while grinding.

Hey…the $1500 NLHEs are all 3 day events so no choices to make there.

Think this sheet will be helpful, schedule etc. for every series this summer…
If you want to calculate your buy-ins just put an 'x' next to the event you want to play and everything will be calculated at the bottom of the sheet.

Leaving the night of May 30th, staying the first night at the Gold Coast and then on to the Wyndahm Grand Desert until June 9th. Will likely play the million maker then a bunch of tournaments around town. Definitely playing the Carnivale of Poker on the 3rd and 4th. If you guys haven't seen the Carnivale schedule yet, it's basically WSOP-C events at the Rio, so the buyins are reasonable and the structures ought to be the best this summer at that price point.

Hi guys! will be back in vegas june 9th, after a quick trip to Dominican Republic. I would like to offer ALL TPE members in vegas at any point in the summer a deal on food and drinks I have worked out at my former place of work:
BLUE MARTINI
I have a hospitality card available for all TPE members that will offer you 1/2 off food and drinks all summer long. 24/7 at this place of business.
it's a very nice establishment & Casey, KB, DannyN13 etc. can tell you it's a lot of fun.
Looking forward to seeing some old friends and meeting some new TPE members this summer.
Much love guys and good luck.
