I recently upgraded my bedroom setup. I have a dell laptop hooked up to an external monitor and just bought a lg lcd tv with rgb input(laptop connection). As it is, I have to swap out the rgb cord whenever I want to use internet on tv. Is there an adaptor that can switch back and forth from the rgb from pc to tv? Sorry – kinda confusing..

Does your laptop have HDMI? You can run the HDMI to your TV while using the RGB for external monitor.  You can also adjust your video card in most cases to run dual monitor using your laptop screen and external connection.  I do not know of any adaptor.  I have my thinkpad setup on my TV but sometimes will use the monitor on the laptop in dual mode for something else. Dual monitor also depends on your graphics card if it supports that function, most 2009 models are later do.

For me it is always time for a new laptop. You may still be able to run dual monitor using both the laptop and TV if your video card supports it. If you know what your video card is let me know and I can check to see if it does.
