Hey Guys I'd like some help…

I'm in the market for a new machine and I'm seriously considering going over to a Mac but I'm unsure, does anyone play on a Mac? and if so is it worth the extra outlay?

thanks in advance smile

I think a Mac with Windows 7 Parallels is infinitely better than owning a PC.

I've had my Macbook Pro for a full year now and I have no intentions of ever owning a PC again.

I have them both and I prefer my iMac as my main computer. If you are a U.S. player there are not many playing options, luckily most Merge skins support native Mac OS. Like FK said you could run a virtual machine with Windows for sites that only support Windows. Poker performance wise they are neck and neck. Both options have high-end HUD options: HEM 2 for Windows and PT3 for Mac. Guess it comes down to what you want to spend and will it be a poker only computer.

Thanks for the input guys,

I love apple and own an iphone and i'm going treat myself to the new ipad, but after a lot of thought I'm going down the PC route as its really only going to be for playing poker here in the UK an iMac 21.5 display costs £999 and i've just puchased a Acer Aspire AX3990 desktop pc i5 2320 3GHz, 6GB RAM, 1.5HDD plus Asus VE247H 24 inch LED widescreen full HD 1080p monitor plus a classy looking pc desk and a fancy leather grinding chair all for £950! no brainer really.

Not a bad choice. You just need to ship a nice tournament and then you can treat yourself to the Mac.

I know I am a bit late to the party, but I do swing both ways.  I usually use my mac to play poker at home, I also have quite a doozey of a windows machine, but since I gave up playing Evony, it pretty much just sits there.

Either way, if you want the best performance go SSD – I still reboot my pc for no apparent reason other then to marvel at the speed of the SSDs I have in there – LOL

I Agree about the SSD. I just bought myself a 17inch HP Envy with dual drives. I replaced one of the 1TB drives with an SSD which makes if fly. The best upgrade you can do imo.

I use a Mac… I love it, but am frustrated by it’s incapacity to play proper 888 (can only play java version), use table ninja and Party Poker tourneys…. I do have parallels installed, but can’t be stuffed using it!
