How do I insert pictures?

I have tried several times to upload pics in some of my forum posts and have failed every-time.

Please can someone provide some instructions. I don’t see why this should be so difficult but it is defeating me.

I have tried many times like that but will not work. Do the pics need to be on a hosting site such as flickr, or can they be direct from hard drive? And what about the sizing?

ok this is now driving me insane to the point of tech tilt – i cannot load a dam thing

all i get is this

this is the URL to the picture but it just does not want to show the picture – i can only asssume that flickr does not work with this forum.
