Thanks, guys, I really appreciate it coming from you guys.
A few highlights of the tournament. First, I'm about 3 average stacks with maybe 100 players remaining, and this guy shows up with a similar stack and he's just playing nuts. Chatting that he will call anything, playing 87/80 in the first two orbits, calling allins with hands like T9o, K7o, and so on, so I am waiting for any hand that is worth my whole against his range. Soon enough, I get JJ We go heads up to the flop and I spike topset, board is JTx, two suited. There's some action I don't remember exactly, but I end up leaving a potsized bet for the turn. Turn is a Q, no flush, and I jam, figuring no way he ever stops raising with QQ preflop, and if he happens to have a straight, oh well, I have 10 outs. He calls with 89 but I spike my boat and now I'm the chip leader by a decent margin.
Later, I was 1st out of 7, when I get KK v. AQ and bust 2nd or 3rd place stack to end up with 45% of the chips (9 mil). 2nd place at this point is about 3.5 mil, So I figure I can ICM screw these guys. BB is I think about 12,000 or 15,000, so we about 20-30 effective. 6th place is 1,000, 2 is 4,500, and 1st is 6,700, so I doubt 2nd and 3rd place stacks want to gamble too much. I have 79s on the button and reshove over 2nd place open because I figure he has to be folding such a high percentage of his range. He has AKs and calls, I suck out on him. New 2nd place is like 18BB. Within an orbit I am bvb in the SB 34o against new 2nd place and just shove, again figuring he can't call nearly enough to make it unprofitable, and he calls me with I don't remember what, I suck out on him. Somewhere in there, I get 3 way against two shove/fold stack and end up busting one of them when I have AQ and they shove. The last guy, who was in like 6th or 7th out of 7, thanks me for getting him the 4,500K, doubles up on me twice in a few minutes, but I still have 85% of the chips, and I wear him down with aggression until knocking him out.
I plan to post several of the hands mentioned above, plus anything else I might find when I have time to review my hand history.
More than tripled my bankroll, which is key for me as now I have the correct roll to play live as well. I live 5 minutes from a card room than has daily $70 tournaments that I afford now, and the play is very, well, live. The majority of the entrants are not terrible cash game players, but could really benefit from joining TPE, or maybe, like, reading one book about tournament poker in their life. Lot's of limp/folding, down to 7BB, folding and showing a A to my 8BB jam bvb, and never ever 3-betting. Also putting way too much credit to a pot-sized shove just because it's all-in. I think by playing live with more frequency, I will develop reads on some of the regulars as well as learning how to exploit the “average player” by making some adjustments even against unknowns. The structures are pretty fast, so I need to get lucky in the midstages, but when I reach the final table, I have an enormous advantage. Due to the top-heavy payouts, this should make the tournaments very profitable for me. Will probably wait for a check from Merge, so this will be in about two months.

Just awesome! Note that, if you are on Carbon, payouts have been much faster in recent weeks (2 weeks, or even less for checks). Probably will slow a bit from the Poker Maximus volume, but nothing like when I had a major cash in one of the prior PMs this year and waited nearly three months.
Congratulations again, hopefully the first of many!
