1 of 3 right now. I should have posted earlier. I'm spot on right now. Already took 2nd in the 4k cubed and 4th in the $30 3k.

I had a couple of huge pots where I threw in some 4 bets……completely threw people off. One guy even showed Queens and folded to my 910s. Thanks guys!

And I'm HU. We are deep but the guy has a 2-1 chip lead and is showing me every raise and is basically getting the deck thrown at him

2nd, I played so passive because I knew this guy would call off if I could just smack him in the face once with a flop. Unfortunately, I think I conformed to his game and didnt switch gears at all and just saw as many flops as possible, which isnt me. I didnt push pre a lot (and have no idea why I stopped at least raising everytime I played) when I should have becuase I was trying to reduce my variance against this dude. He would have called me with any broadway, Ax, and suited connectors because they were pretty.

There was one really interesting hand where I folded KQ for top pair when he shoved the river. I had just evened up our stacks a couple hands before that. He then proceeded to show a jack. He showed me his top pair, trips, straights, flushes, etc every single time but I dont think he ever just has a lone jack there. I just didnt want to call off 35 bigs with top pair when I felt like I could easily felt this guy. The dude has a ROI on Merge of -10, I should have dusted him.  Oh well, $4416 + 747 from the 4k, 218 for the 7.5k and 335 from the 3k isnt bad for a night where I am sweating with a fever and coughing a storm.

I would say that is a decent night on Merge– congrats! Think you hit the nail on the head when you stated that you conformed to his game….

Wow dude I didn't know you were a TPE member. We have played in so many tournaments together on Merge. I think I was at the $33 Deepstack FT you mentioned. My handle on Merge is packallamatux and congratulations on a very nice score.
