Heys just thought id put a little sweat thread up couple days early i no but im excited lol.

Im playing in the GUKPT Goliath in the UK this weekend and there hoping to beat last years field of about 1700 players which is the biggest ever live field in Europe (i didnt get to play 🙁 ), and this year there trying to beat that with 2000 players.

Ive never been to the WSOP so the biggest field i have played live before is about 300 players so im looking forward to this and its only £100 buy-in and the winner took home just over £30,000 so thats an added incentive to play lol.

Been watching loadsa videos recently so hopefully ive listened well and get some TPE run good.

Its a 4-day event so hopefully i can have a deep run and i will post updates end of each day for anyone thats interested.

Cheers & gl TPEkiss

GL – just wondered as I'm in UK but have to go back to work tomorrow. I won GUKPT £300 event a couple of years ago but not played any since.

How did it go Davey?

I played it after I won a seat in a live sat at Grosvenor Walsall. I managed to get to 110k then spazzed it all of with second pair and a draw with 3 hands to go at the end of day 1c. My rationale (which was flawed I now realise since I'd misunderstood the payout and didn't appreciate how many super short stacks remained) was that I was flipping to come back with a playable stack the next day rather than travelling the hour to sit down with 20bb.

Hopefully you did better laugh

Hey no nothing went well for me at all didnt even make dinner break. It was such a weird table to play, we had 1 player who kept raising blind and he would either wake up with a monster or would keep outdrawing people, players limp shoving 100bb stacks with A10o pre antes and i just couldnt catch any spots to get money in good and win. I had 1 hand vs the blind raiser were he kept calling me down with Q2o on a 2 5 7 10 board and hits 2 on river. And then i had 18bb with AK in late position, there was a raise and 2 calls so i shove and get called by AJ and GG. So the tournament wasnt good at all but the Omaha cash game after was very profitable so wasnt a disaster.

110k would have been a nice stack for the 2nd day cause it was quite close to the money and there was a few shorties but never mind we all learn from mistakes.

Glad t hear you managed to make some profit on the day.

The problem with such a big field I suppose was that average stack didn't give a sense of the distribution so I actually thought I was short, when in fact I wasn't relative to the bulk of the field. Next year I suppose.
