Thanks for the support guys. Was a fun final table. I had Sam Holden on my right who is a super nice guy (although not someone you want attacking your blinds!). Doubled up early with KcJc on a K high flop, money went all in on the turn when a second club came and I rivered an uneccessary flush vs K8. Lost a fair bit to Sam Holden BvB when he bet all three streets on a KJxxT board, I had JT, he rivered a straight with AQ. The decisive pot was when the chipleader made a big river bet on a 4578K board, I decided my KT was a good bluffcatcher – unfortunately he wasn't bluffing, he had K6. At that point there were three short stacks and two big stacks and it was down to fate which of the shorties was to double up or bust first (all of us were shoving pretty regularly). Unfortunately, fate dealt me AJ at the same time as the chipleader (who was opening pretty much any time it folded to him) was dealt AK. Somehow, I managed to not catch a J.
Still, 5th place and £22k was pretty nice. Especially considering I was all in on the money bubble on day 3 with AQ vs AK and managed to spike a Q 🙂
Looking forward to UKIPT Bristol in October.
Thanks to TPE for improving my game to the point where these things are possible. In particular, the TPE Live podcasts were a big help when it comes to live tournaments (I don't get much chance to play live so hearing the pros talk about the adjustments they make from online to live was invaluable).
