Out in 6th – I minr w 88, donk chipleader fr bb calls, flop 254r – everything is fine right? He x/calls my 1/2 pot cbet. Turn 6. Usually I wont bet over pot but I know this guy could be doing this w overs or any pair he may have hit and I dont wanta give him a shot to hit it – still thought I had a bit of FE – he ch's, I get it in – he has A3!

I started the hand with 19 bbs – there could be a case for open shoving, but I min'd fully expecting him to flat fr the bb w prob up to 60 or 70% of his range. I think most of the times, he flats and x/folds to my cbet or even peels flop and then folds to a turn bet. Pretty sure playing it like that vs a player like this is more profitable than open shoving in the long run. Not this time though, but no regrets.

Ok, benny good one. But after our whole discussion and in a case like this, u can safely put the charts away.

One of the ways the guy that knocked me out started to chip up, and eventually won, raise called a 3bet shove w Q8o for almost his whole stack when there were about 13 left. Then right after that, he 4x's fr utg and calls another shove w QJo. So forget what the charts say vs this guy. But even if there weren't players like him at the final table, the charts aren't that usefull bec icm factors come into play.

But in a situation where there might be 15 -20 pple left and I have like 15-18 bbs and it comes to me unopened, I'll prob shove a range pretty close to what the charts say.

never try to get to clever in these spots or out think the situation this to me is a clear shove as to many people are flatting just to smash flops and/or outplay you based on icm so just put it in here imo to many flops leave you wondering where the heck your at

Yeah T? I hear u. I'm pretty sure I would have shoved 77. But the 88 looked like such a value hand vs that guy in the bb, like I said, who I knew would flat with most of his range. I just looked at what 60% looks like – forget it – he would have flatted w even higher.

Come to think of it, as silly as it sounds, he may have called a shove w the A3o. I mean he r/c w Q8o for most of his stack. And if he called w the A3o and lost, it would have just been a slight dent to his stack.

I guess that's not important here.

Would u also shove 99 and TT?  JJ+ would be way too strong to open shove, right? What about AK, AQ? Is there an argument for opening vs this guy in the bb instead of shoving?

Thanks for your opinion.
