Ok guys, i was bored the other day so i decided to start loading up the recorder when i got deep, and i managed to catch my $33 6max win the other day
it goes for about 38 minutes
obviously nowhere near up to TPE standard but if you do happen to watch, let me know. all criticism welcome, both about hands and the video in general

Nice score Benny. That guy was horrible! He played so face up. I can't believe what a luck box he was!
I'm curious about the 88 around the 9 minute mark. You played it really passive, when I thought you had the best hand. I'm wondering if you lost a bit of value by not betting there.

regarding 88 hand above, ther is no value in cbetting if nothing we beat calls. we dont know that he double barrels 4x 5x and 66 77. more likely to be 9x than either of those so if we weight his range that way i like a checkback
I disagree. He donk bets, so technically it’s not a cbet. And I think this guy is doing a weak donk lead as a sort of a blocker bet. If he had a 9 or a set, he would have donked bigger. I think we have to charge him here to draw. Sure, he probably folds if we raise, but we save chips in the long run because sometimes his hand gets there. Benny ends up winning the pot, but if V hits one of his 6 outs on the river, we loose a big pot.

GOD I MISS POKERSTARS!!! But seriously did that guy run unfricking believable or what! Way to keep battling back despite the constant beats and not tilting off your stack, very tough to stay sharp after things like that happen IMO. Nice reads in game on bet sizing patterns and ranges and sticking to those reads. Thought you played very solid. Great score Benny congrats!!!

thats a typo, i meant to say betting, raising flop is horrible imo since we dont want to stack off. calling river calling most turns and checking river is the best line imo.
I do see your point, but I have been erring on the side of aggression these days. Perhaps I have been watching too many Big Dog vids. His flop lead seems SO weak and the guy has been playing face up. If we bet, he just may fold, but I don't think he jams. *I* might have jammed. I would have been seriously sick of his donk leading at this point. Maybe spewy on my part. I dunno. (Big Dog: “Chips right in his grill!”)
Would you have stacked off to a jam on this board, Benny? Seems like you had no intention of folding. In fact, you said it. I still feel like I raise him at least and see where I'm at. I remember thinking the first time I watched that letting him draw seemed risky.

I think raising with that 88 hand is horrible for two reasons. First is that I don’t think he stacks off with less than a 9 (it was a nine high board if I remember rightly).
Secondly, it is a high variance spot and I had been crushing him, so there was really no need to play a huge pot.
On the river I checked back because I didn’t think villain would call with a pair lower than an eight. Maybe he does sometimes but I would say the vast majority of his river calling range has me beat on the river. Thin value was just not needed against this villain. Even if it was slightly +EV here I still think you could make an argument for checking back just because of the fact that he was basically handing chips to us in small pots. My play here was entirely villain dependent and so I took a pot control line because of thwt

Yeah horrible is too strong a word IMO, sorry about that.
On the flop, I don’t really like getting it in. And in ant case, his donk bet was small rather than bigger which indicated a weak hand so he might have folded on the flop anyway if I had raised

Nice vid, brutal HU though mate!
thanks!
i think recording actually helped in this circumstance because i think i would have gone on monkey tilt otherwise and probably would have finished second

Actually got a lot out of this other than the entertainment of the brutal beats;) Wouldn’t mind a few more live sweats if you’re thinking about doing em! I’d really like to cya do some guest vids for tpe even. Your style and plays are pretty relevant to where a lot of us micro/ small stakes are at IMO & you explain them well.
If you have any more, post em up or keep recording hey.

thanks for the kind words!
i do plan on doing some more some time. there is another one on my youtube channel but that was a bit boring. i do plan on doing some more though.
if i get deep in anything tomorrow, (i.e wcoop 1 and 2) i might fire up the recorder again but it depends.

Liked the vid – maybe it was because you were recording but you showed great patience in the HU game with the brutal run of suckouts, wp.

Must be like when I have people on the rail, I tilt control much better and play better lines. Perhaps talking out loud and commentating on the action is a good way to focus? Might be worth a try.
