Or what should we be looking for…
What are the top things to look for that should be noted?
Eg., limping ranges, weird opening bet sizing, check folding board textures etc…

Maybe we could compile a top 10 standard notes/tendencies.

A theory video on notes taking? Seriously?

I'm not trying to be a jerk but what is next, a theory video on how to click fold?

Everybody takes notes in a different way. Some past a complete HH, some just note “3bets light” or “donk” and others use a timestamp with detailed recap of how villain played a specific hand. All that matters is that you paint a good picture of villain's image if you wind up at the same table again in the future.

I once saw a video on a different training site where the coach used various abbreviations for different kind of players. Somewhat like color tagging but with more details and therefore more complicated. I tried to do the same and failed miserably. I always had to think what the abbreviations meant instead of thinking about the actual decision at hand.

Some people write full sentences of their observations, others use abbreviations and some are satisfied with color tagging. There is no correct way of doing it, there is only YOUR way, the way that works best for YOU. Having a video dedicated to such a trivial thing would be a waste. Writing an article on that topic is more than enough IMO.

dont really agree black, personally, i started colour coding pretty religiously after betudontbets series and it has made my note taking far more time efficient, which is super important for MTTers. There are a whole range of stuff that can be included in notes and finding the optimal balance between note efficacy and time efficiency is a pretty meaningful improvement on ones game.

saying everyone does it different and is simple is the kind of argument that can be applied to everything in poker, it doesnt mean that there arent better ways to do it and improve your game.

more over we realise you prefer live sweats, but that doesnt invalidate the demand for theory content.

No it can't be applied to everything in poker. I can give you a push/fold chart and even my mother can play hyper turbos. It works for me the same as it does for you. I can show you how to configure and create reports in HM or PT and you can improve your game by finding leaks.

On the other hand .. I can show you how I take notes and if you imitate the same approach it can actually hurt your game. I've seen pros (even on TPE) write the same read for villain in 3 lines which I do with 1. It all depends on the type of person you are and how you process the information in your notes efficiently so that you make a quick decision instead of timing out.

That has nothing to do with this thread. I also love theory content. Andrew Brokos' series have been great. The same goes for the Mathematics in MTTs series. Does that mean we need a theory video on every little thing that has something to do with poker? No.
I was just pointing out the fact that there hasn't been a single live sweat video this year. I predict that by the end of 2013 there will be 2-3 times as many theory videos as live sweats, so don't worry, your demand for theory content seems to be well covered (there has already been more theory videos in 2013 than in all of 2012 combined and double the amount of 2011 .. and we are still even in March).
