I know poker vt has their small ball course.

it is a common thing now i think ? where people are misusing it.. or not doing it properly.

do any of your pros actually do small ball ?

(small ball i am talking about is raising with 64 suited and somehow making a big pot out of it )

in particular

i would like to see some of the following concepts in the series

1. what it is,, how to do it..

right now i am of the mindset that soon as i get above 30 bbs i should be small balling trying to build up a chip stack. ,, it isnt working for me.

and if all the pros here are against small

2. small ball myths and why it shouldnt' be done.

3. how to defend agianst the small ball !! or break them.

to be honest i think a “way to play”, i.e lag/tag/small ball etc is a pretty bad way to be thinkng about poker nowadays. the individual stats arent something you should be aspriring to get to, it should just come out of thinking about every different spot etc.

i.e if you think 46s is a good hand to play, there is a reason – player is weaktight postflop, or they dont give up on top pair so we have significant implied odds etc, etc, not that “we are playing small ball”

obviously everyone has different tolerances for risk and aggression and thats how the different styles are borne out, but i dont think aspiring to play a certain way is a good idea. obviously saying more aggressive in general for instance is a good idea, but that is different to what you are talking about imo.

probably the best idea is to go and find pro's videos that match up to your tastes. some people might like the tigher pros like cougars etc, whilst some will like the big dog etc.

Go to cardrunners and watch videos by Chuck Bass. He is not a small specialist but he is really hyper Laggy loose aggresive player from Finland. He is extrmely good and his videos are my faviourte to watch online for MTTs as his and my approch to Mtts is extremely simaller. He will raise hands 8,9s from middle potision early levels he is a sicko.

I know but i was giving the user some advice. I am not primairly an MTT player but still play sundays, the daily Bigs Etc. TPE is still by far the best site for MTT tranning online for $30 a month you can't go wrong.
