^^^ I think this needs to be revisted but here is what I want to change.

Instead of Pros vs Joes, give credit to Spike TV (lol). I think we should have a league where the Pros are the captains and a list of members that would volunteer to be in this league and from that list the pros can pick which player they want on their team, sort of like a draft.

So, we have the teams squared away what about the system? We could do 1 MTT at a time but ehh thats not fun. I say we do a season. We have maybe 10 MTTs.

Also, We can have a points system based off where every places. Like say Big Dog's team places 1, 8, 22, 27 and Hagbard's team places 2, 3, 5, 12, 15. Well from that we can say lowest combined score wins, and we can get a points standings based where every places. We can even have an incentive for winning the tourney. Say a Joe wins the tourney, that will get 10 points taken off his teams points, but if pro wins the tourney then we can say we take 5 points off.

Now what do we do with these point systems? We can have playoffs. Ok right now we have 6 Pros and of course our founding fathers KB and RFB. That gives us 8 captains which is GREAT. We can have a 8 team single elimination playoff system. The top seed plays the 8 seed, the 2 vs 7, etc.

Of course for the winners we can have prizes or what not. I don't really care about that, I just want to do something exciting with my TPE crew.

Here is another thought. Say someone is just killing the MTTs we are having. Say JDog or FkCoolers or Jshilling, well we can have player trades. Say Wein has JDog and he is killing and Wein is 5th in the standings. Then Panda is in 1st b/c his team is consistent but wants to grab JDog before the trade deadline to solidfy his top seed. So he must give up a player of equal caliber or lower caliber. However if he decides to give up a player of lower caliber he must add points to his points total or Wein can deduct points from his points total.

EX – Wein trades JDog for me the shit sandwich player on Panda's team and for 25 points to be deducted from his points total.

Also for team names you can have the captain choose or the team vote or I was thinking of pun like team names.

EX – Pandas HITTING YOU, Big Dog and his group of 5, Wein's Weiners, Hagbard's Vikings (Illimunatus reference), Ttity Ttwister or The Fav Helen Hunt Movie.

What does everyone think?

Also, an idea to get the Pros more involved. I know when it comes to MTTs that I don't care about busting in too early, say a freeroll, I play freakish and make weird non-sense plays. I dunno if the Pros feel this way about the member tourney but maybe we could add some Probe bets in b/w the Pros.

Say Panda finishes dead last, well he has to follow through with a Probe bet of the 1st place standing team for ex Wein. Maybe the bet could be that he has to change his player Image at PS to I love Wein's Weiners.

Just want to get something going like to where the Pros DONT WANNA LOSE…lmao

Any better ideas then shout em out! 😉

that sounds awesome, the only downfall is i think it would be very hard to get all the pros involved by picking teams.

Actually the TPE league is about to launch! It's not a team league but it will have a points system and awards added by TPE.   Maybe in future cycles we do teams?

RFB is there a link to the league?

Also, this concept is coming from like a world cup kinda deal…I miss it, so I figured hell we can have pro-joe teams.

If its better we dont have to do Pros as captians and we can make teams amongst the members…thats another thought. Everybody wants our friendly pros to play though, 😉 . Plus, it could give the TEAM MEMBERS  more hands on learning with their pro captain/coach in order to win the league.

No link yet because we're still working out the details.

I'd say let's go with a normal every man on his own league for the first go around and then do teams on a future one.  Maybe even the next one.  It's a 10 week cycle with multiple tourneys a week.  So it'll be time for the next cycle before you know it.

Before jumping in with the teams idea i think it's better to get a grasp on what kind of turnout we are talking about.  What the right level of games are.  How many teams would be required.  Just generally work out all the kinks in the system.

That said a team is really fun and a good way to build friendships, so we will definitely add that element to the future games.  Great idea.

OK just wondering. B/c I remember doing this when I first started playing about 5 years ago and it was loads of fun. Just wanted to share that experience with everyone else and revisit it for myself.

Yeah I agree.  I did a few of these team challenges in the past and it's a good way to get to know other members plus it makes you more motivated.  Great idea man.  The more I think about it the more I like the concept of a team.  We'll definitely make the 2nd cycle team based.

I love the team idea with pros as captains personally.  We can do a TLB(tournament leader board)  style league, and you count the top 5 TLB scores of each team member and add them up at the end.  This way it isn't necessarily volume or stakes based.  Also you can turn e-mail my results on.  On the e-mails from tilt and stars you get your place, amount cashed, and TLB points.  You can post the e-mail in a thread so everyone can see how everyone is doing.  Could be a month-long thing and prizepool/ prizes could go to the winning team.  I think this is great for the community, and would be a fun way to motivate people(me) to grind.  Organizing this will take some work, but I actually really like this idea, so i would be willing to do my part.surprised

We're setting it up so that there will be an equal number of weekday and weekend tournaments and then you don't have to play in all to qualify for point leadership.  We'll formally announce it on monday with all the details.

Ron, do you want to start an official, who is interested in the team challenge type thread to gauge if we would even be able to do it or not? 18 people is probably a good minimum.  Would make it teams of 4 when you count the pros.

hey J.  We're going to do a team challenge the second time we run the league.  This first time, that we are going to announce on monday will be an individual competition.  The first time we run it will be more complicated so I'd like to save teams for the 2nd cycle.
