Please get better mics guys, you could make the most brilliant instructional video ever, but it becomes a poor video with bad sound.

I feel like it's such a simple thing, that really ruins some videos.

The one I'm immediately thinking of is DannyN13s new series, it's just really hard to listen to because of the sound quality. There's been more in the past but I can't remember.

I agree. I listened to Jamie Ks vids. I didnt know who she was but her sound was very clear and easy to listen to. Learned a lot not just about the game but HER game. Her approach to being a pro. In other words you could catch the nuances. Dannys sound was like being under water and had to turn it off after a couple of minutes.

Hi,

Sorry about the issue on that video.  Danny turned it in and we decided to accept it because the insight was very good, and that the sound quality was still passable.  But I can see a lot of people disagree.  We'll make sure the future videos are higher standards for sound than this.

Thanks for responding Ron. One thing you might pass on to your instructors is to think about the listener. Its ok to talk in your natural voice but they should work on diction, tempo, and texture. Often times I have to replay just for the vocal aspect. For example Ive told Andrew Brokos about his speed. Sometimes he talks so fast I have to go over his vids as brilliant as they may be.  Found out it comes from his debate background where they use timers.

Scott Clements is a master however when he records his vids his voice goes up an octave in range and it is hard to listen too.

My critique comes from a background in making video games and animation. World of Warcraft, Spiderman, Xmen, Gi Joe, etc. Just trying to help.
