I am thrilled to announce that Mike Leah, known as “goleafsgoeh” online is joining TPE as an instructor! ย A little bit about Mike:
Mike Leah is a professional poker player and MTT specialist hailing from Toronto, Canada. Known online as “GoLeafsGoEH” online, Mike got his start playing online and already has over $2.3 million in winnings. His online scores include a win in the 2010 FTOPS #24 for over $92,000, a second place finish in the Full Tilt $750K Guaranteed for $86,000 and a host of other high 5 digit wins.ย
Mike also boasts an impressive live record. In 2009 he finished second in the LA Poker Classic for $152,600. That same year he won two Venetian Deepstack events for a total of over $400,000.ย
Mike continues to play online from his home and Canada and is also a regular on the live poker circuit. In fact, he had 5 cashes in this summer's World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. His future goals include his first major live tournament win and, of course, a WSOP bracelet!
His first video is up at:ย …..ve-part-1/
Welcome aboard Mike!
WELCOME MIKE!
just watched the vid and i really like it.
good choice to do a midstakes video and i like the way of the commentary
keep it up and i look forward to the rest of the series & more
ย
heres an older cardplayer article about him:
Hey Mike – What a pleasant surprise. Welcome.
I played w you at the same table a couple of times at Borgata and have always enjoyed railing you when u went deep online.
Excellent 1st video. I think the subs should know something about your minr'ing game though. A couple of years ago, when your name came up in live mttย conversations, 'that guy who always minraises' was sure to follow.ย You kind of pioneered minr'ing at a time when almost nobody did it beg to end of mtts.
To be honest , I don't know if alot of players can get away with it today though. And personally, I'm not a big fan of it and almost never do it until the blinds get to be about the 500/1000 level. But there's plenty of time for that debate.
Really looking forward to your material on the site.

In part 3 (I think, if not part 4) I get into my min'raise strategy…but would be more than happy to get into it deeper in an article perhaps if there is a lot of interest.
thanks for the feedback,
Mike
Mike – I think an article re your mr'ing approach would be great since it's such a big part of your game.
Again, the first video was really impressive. I usually favor single tabeling videos over the multis bec of continuityย problems and its tough to keep track of what's going on on all the tables. But u did a great job w the three mtts, never seeming to miss analysis of any hands u played.
Do u plan to play at Borgata in a couple of weeks?

Well apparently I'm an expert now ๐
Maybe we could do a “draw games” series including 2-7 and other draw games if there was enough interest
