Hi,

Have U.S. based players had any issues depositing or getting money out on Lock?

So I created an account last night and was watching a $5+.50 knockout and it was down to 9 players. I went back to a tourny I was playing on another site and when I came back to Lock there were 13 players. I noticed it was in “Late Registration” state. How long does the late reg go on for? Any pro's or con's to joining late?

Thanks!

Apologies… I read further down in another thread about Lock (with link to another forum) and it looks like I should avoid depositing there. Ugh..

I don't play on Lock, but in general, late registration is a way to turn any tournament into a faster structure.  When you normally join a tournament, do you make chips in the first hour?  Do you make enough chips to be worth the time and effort of making decisions?

I know Carbon used to have ridiculously late registration periods and you could try to buy in very late and stay alive to cash.  However, it wasn't necessarily a great idea because lots of other people were joining then too, so you have to outlast more people than you might expect.

I will often late reg for a few tourneys when I start my session because there are some good value tourneys that I just happened to have missed the start of.  I never deliberately wait to late reg for a tourney though.

I went with Carbon Poker. The registration and deposit process was hassle free. The overall quality of the site is great. Good mix of games (compared to the last site I was a regular on). The only real negative is: I really, really, really dislike the late registration. It's like 2.5 hours long! So frustrating. All the last minute registration/all in spree's, I feel I should be cleaning up but it hasn't been working out.

Yea lock poker is a bust still recruiting. Never pays though. Not sure why there still even runnin. U probably dont have time to listen to the lengthy poker fraud alert podcast (its stupid long) but its been documented pretty well and talked about. Stay away hope u didnt put much on there. Your never gonna see a penny back.

Carbon has been treating me very well ever since I joined.  The late registration period, while seemingly annoying at first, is actually good for our action in my opinion.  Yes, it may result in an occasional bubble finish that would have been something better, but I don't think it would often make what would have been a top 3 finish into something far worse.  More often I think it provides better prize pools and better cashes in the tourneys we do well in.

More importantly, cashouts from Carbon are arriving about 10 days after they are requested for most folks on 2plus2.com

Lock on the other hand owes me one meager bankroll cashout from 5/1/2013.  Sorry you didn't see the other post you mentioned before depositing.  You may get your money in the very very insanely distant future but I would just put that out of your mind and allow yourself to be pleasantly surprised if and when it does happen.
