Yes, it is day one of legal regulated online poker here in NJ, and I am currently playing on WSOP.com as part of the soft lauch. Tried ot get on Ultimate, but it took an hour to verify my location, and after that i could not deposit. But that is what the soft launch is for, to work out the bugs.

Really impressed by the WSOP.com software; very attractive and easy to use thus far. Looking forward to trying out the triumphant return of PartyPoker to the US tomorrow night (decided to only try out two sites tonight in case I encountered and registration issues, which I did.

Could not be happier!

very cool!  I assume the software is the same as the Nevada wsop.com software…if so, I love it!

Exciting times in America! If only the rest of the country could get moving!

Believe it is the same software. The WSOP software, in particular, is superlative, best I've played on since Tilt. The heads-up graphic, where they play music and break out the suitcase full of cash, is awesome, as are the final table graphics. Look and feel are top-notch, connection spead is fast, and all the features are excellent except no auto rebuy for the moment, but maybe that is just during the test phase.

Party  (and its sister site Borgata) is fine as well, but there's a lot going on with (Achievement rewards, etc.) that makes the site real busy for me and will take some time getting used to.

Ultimate? Well, I will tell you when I finally access it, the site has not been able to locate my phone in NJ yet. Customaer service responds quickly, but can't seem to assist right now since it seems to be a problem with its LOKI phone location system.

Have not tried the others yet since I suspect the traffic is extremely low– Even on Party it is only 111 players, and that is combining the Borgata player pool, I believe. WSOP I think has sligthly more traffic since 127 were reg'd for the 1K freeroll this afternoon, but I can't find a figure on their site.

Lots of people, (not me) have had troubles accessing the sites, but a lot of time it is their own fault (for example, they have remote control programs such as gotomeeting or gotomypc running in the background on their machines, which, of course is a no no) rather than that of the websites (Ultimate and Borgata prior to today being the exceptions). Many people I've encoutered have not played online (or, in some cases, at all) since bf, so very encouraging.

I forgot you were in NJ. Im at the Borgata and have met like 3 Mikes. If one of them were you, I was totally oblivious to it.

Your description of wsop.com makes me not wanna go back to Atlanta but there's heat and sunshine for more than like 30% of the day down there so it's a close decision.

You probably haven't met me, since I only have on live MTT on my resume, though it was at the Borgata. However, with all the live MTT entries that will be be able to be won on both the WSOP and Borgata/Party sites, that may change. Neveremind the freakin' 250K freeroll in January on WSOP.com and the special $1 million to the winner live sit-n-go for online qualifiersat the Borgata!

At any rate hope you are still crushing ACR, and P-aire, myself and the rest of the NJ folks will attempt to take the sites by storm on behalf of the TPE nation!

I could not be more psyched!

Are there any plans with the casinos to provide points on player cards for online play or will it only be player points usable on the online site?

I had all kinds of issues the first few days.

WSOP- Had login issues the first day, but Friday I was good to go.  Impressed with software.  Spoke with Killingbird about his experience with WSOP during the Online Champs, he was pleased with it.  I think it reminds me of a combo if Pstars/FTP.  So far so good.  Mad 4 FT's over the weekend and made a bunch of money.  So far so good.  I'm looking forward to playin on here more.

Party/Borg- had major issues getting on.  All weekend they said I was not in NJ.  Finally got fixed late sunday night, but then I couldn't depos any money and I didn't get the free money they said I would.  The lobby looks bad, but I have to think that they will fix their issues.  Plus, I absolutely see myself playing on here because of the WPT.  Borgata is the best spot on the East Coast for live MTT's and with being able to satty into WPT's w/ party, I”M IN…………….

Betfair- I signed on, but didn't play.  I'll wait

Ultimate- Signed on, but for some reason wouldn't let me in.  I'll wait for this as well.

My main focus is going to be the WSOP & Party/Borg basically because of the tours……… WPT & WSOP. Any chance of playing satties for their BIG tourneys is what I'm looking for.

P-aire, you might be able to get on Ulitimate now, as I was finally able to get in about an hour ago (turned my phone off and one once as they suggest you do, and that did the trick).  As far as software goes for now WSOP>Ultimate>>>>Party, though Party's toruney schedule (especially the daily tourneys) appears to be the best.

Party's software was so rudimatary (espeically with note-taking and other features) that I wonder if this was just test software and an enhanced version is being rolled out after soft launch.

Hey Mike,   finally got on to Party.  Seems ok, nothing special to me, but like I thought, I'm going to love playing anything that can put me in to BIG WPT Borgata tourneys…….  I'll deal with the short comings.

For now, I'm going to stick with WSOP & Party.  ENjoying WSOP so far.  Like the 5k gtd everyday at 9 that's going to have a big overlay for a while.  Wheeeeee.  I saw they are doing a satty into next weeks WSOPC Main at Harrah's  That's what I'm talking about.  crossing fingers for that.  GLGL Mike.

I'm …… WSOP –  P_aire_146    Party –   P-aire_146

Cool, I am cantbeatyou on both, because, well I can't.

Note that Party will have a daily schedule coming shortly that i woud argue is even better than WSOPs. Check it out here:

WSOP.com just added daily satty's to the WSOPC Harrah's main event! Thoughn the launch was taking place too late for this to happen, but I was wrong!

One luck person will even obtain their seat for free.

just a note for you guys – WSOP.com's software is the same as what we use on 888 for the rest of the world.

its quite funny and maybe just instructive of how bad things are in the US that people are saying how good the software is, but if you look at 888's software thread you will see nothing but complaints.

i think it is possibly on a par with tilt now having said all that.

LOL, that's funny Benny.  Cause I'm complaining about Party's software a bit.  Enjoying WSOP.com so far.

Played the majors for both today.  Had nice stacks earlier on, but got coolered in both.  No joy.

Back at it next week.  Works issues are calling, lol.

Was good to see you in the 5K rebuy, P-aire! Hope you did OK, I min cashed, but wiped out in the two majors like you did. But I did turn $0 into $463 on 888 today, mostly thanks to their 10K freeroll and taking some of the money from my mid-cash in that and shipping the 1K.

Yeah, not a huge fan of Part'y software thus far; wish they spent as much time on functionality as they do on all the social media stuff. Curious as to whether it is the same as used in the ROW.

I believe that the NJ 888/WSOP software is almost as good as Tilt's though. And I get to throw snowballs and stuff at other players!

snowballs and eggs are pretty fun on 888

if i am at the end of my session, and i only have an 888 table up, ill just throw something continually at one person just for the troll to see what they do. usually it involves them wanting to play every pot with you haha.

So I am playing a little $250 guarantee $2 omaha 8 tourney on Borgata/Party, and I make the final table with none other than Jamie Kerstetter! And yes, her play here seemed just as superlative as it would  be in a far larger buyin. i was out in 4th, and she was the huge CL at that point. I love NJ poker!

I FT bubbled the Sunday Borgata/Party 50K guarantee, currently the largest Sunday Major in NJ (though I think that WSOP will probably increase theirs to at least 50K before long). Was 10/10 and open shoved A-J hearts, ran into aces and queens. Flop was two hearts, but it was not to be.

still playing majority of my volume on WSOP.  I hate the Borg/Party tlb and colors.  Not many Gtd tourneys yet.

THis week has been tough.  Last night I seemed to bubble everything.  Lost HU's for WSOPOL in Jan.  33<AT  Finished 32 in 10k 25 paid.  But won a seat into sundy $109 major.

Been playing a bit too loose vs clowns who are making outrageous plays.  Mike can confirm I'm sure, but that enforces my knowing how soft the fields are at times.  They alwyas seem to hit miracle cards.  I will win out in the long run.

Absoltuely P-aire! I was concerned that the quality of play would be high, since I know for a fact that some pros who live in NJ and havent played online since BF are back in the game. But overall the quality of plan has been on par with Winning network, which is to say terrible, There are several players competing for the title of nut worst. You will absoltuely crush on here.

As for me, cashed tonight in both the daily Borgata/Party major and the WSOP major (both 10K) for the first time. Finished 12th in the WSOP, but still alive in the Borgata/Party (5/14). Will post in the sweat and/or brag thread if it ends up being appropriate.

And P-aire and others, Borgata just announced a bunch of online sattys to the WPT Winter Poker Open, including a 50-seat guaranteed to event one, so you might want to check that out if you have not done so already. They were already running Steps and other sattys to the ME, but this would be in addition to those.

Well, yet another deep run.  Can't be too disappointed.  Finished 10th in WSOP 10k stone bubble. Fuk me.  Really happy with play.  Good playing with MikeWebb.  I'm going to check out Party more the next few weeks because of WPT Borg in Jan.  I know I'll be there a bunch.

Was fun railing the WSOP 10K with you tonight after having my aces brutalized by A-K. Glad you shipped your $530 seat; hope to follow in your footsteps.

And here's how you provide good customer relations; there was a server outage at WSOP  on 12/10; not only did we get our chip chops from all the cancelled tourneys, but a ticket to a 20K freeroll! Never received anything like that for my weekly outages on Winning Network!

I didn't get a tix to the 20k 🙁   Oh well, I'm still busy with work things this week so I won't be playing much.  But Monday night I'll be back on the grind.  glgl Mike.

Just has my best day online  in my month of NJ poker. Shipped the 5K on WSOP, satty into the $530 250K guarantee later this month, and FT bubbled the Borgata/Party 5K. Later this month I will now be playing in TWO 250K guaranteed tourneys in the span of a week. Could not be more excited about NJ poker!

Nice job Mike. haven't been playing much lately, I had work obligations and wanted to work on my game some.

Tonight starts me back on the grind w/ my week ending in a nice live tourney at Del Park.

I'll see you in both those 250k GTD online.  glgl to us and friends.

This is my first post after listening to many podcasts. I finally signed up a couple of months ago after a nice cash during the Borgata Open in September. After reading these posts about NJ online poker, I figured I'd put my 2 cents worth in.

I think 888 got it right with their $10K daily freerolls. Even though they are not generating large fields, their structure are much better than WSOP. They are winnable and don't take all night to complete.

WSOP has some good tourney but they take too long. Their blind structure early is:

10/20, 15/30, 20/40, 25/50, 30/60 2nd Hour

40/80, 50/100, 60/120, 80/160, 100/200, 120/240 2nd Hour

So it takes 2 hours to get to 120/240. For a tourney that starts at 9:00, thats too late for most players in NJ in my opinion…those that work in the AM anyways.

In the first week or two, I won a $5.00 tourney that took over 4 1/2 hours to play that netted $200 for my time.  Yes you can play deep stack poker, but I don't think it is a good structure for daily onlines.

Borgata's web site worked for me 1 day, the day I made a deposit. The software has been deleted and reinstalled I'm trying to get me money back from them because I found out they use the same player pools as Party.

Party seems cumbersome and their lobby is cluttered and its hard to make player notes. But they run good tourneys that don't take all night.

OK, there it is…me 2 cents worth. I'm sure someone will think I shoud get change back !

I'm not sure how much you have played online in the past, but to me, the structures on WSOP are kinda what PStars had when they were getting 2k or 4k runners in small buyin's .  I'm playing the two daily major's (10k & 5K) on  WSOP and both last 5 hours from start to finish.  Back in the day (2011) some of those same tourneys w/ like structures would last a mini of 7-8 hours in a 4k gtd p-pool..  Not much they can do.  I know a few of us asked about starting the 10k & 5k earlier, but then you may not get the numbers they are getting.  I have to be at work at 8am everyday so I don't get to play the 5k most nights unless I don't mind getting 6 hrs. sleep.  Just the way it's going to have to be.  As much as I want Pstars back and the numbers to be as HUGE as they were in 2011, that's not going to happen and I'm happy I have what we do for now in NJ.

I had played a lot of PStars, mostly the turbos. I do remember the non-turbos did go like 10 or 15 minute levels but not the snails pace increasing levels that WSOP has. Hopefully they will incorporate faster structures in the months to come.

You were used to playing the turbos and those were cool.  There's no way they have what Stars did.  it's the nature of the best.  Most players want deep tourneys w/ structures like the majors.  I understand where you are coming from.  the tourneys getting the volume are those bigger GTD so I don't see the structures changing.  glgl

I'm more of a deepstack player rather than a turbo player, so the strucutres are defnitely welcome for me.

Also, to clarify an earlier post, I will actually be playing in THREE 250K guaranteed WSOP.com toruneys in late January (as will P-aire, most likely) since there is a 250K freeroll at the end for anyone who participated in any of thetourneys in the series. Awesome stuff!

And Ultimate is joining the fray, with daily $50 5K freezouts and a $100 20K feezout on Sunday, as well as an odd daily $1 tounrey where the winner has $1,000 added to what he/she would normally win. Huge overlays in the 5K and 20K freezouts at this pont due to less traffice on Ulitmate.

Also, Betfair finally commenced operations, but due to technical difficulties I (and many others) have yet to be able to acces the site. I'll report when I am able to access.

Well, this weekend went ok.  First, busted event 5 at Del Park.  THen came home, busted the WSOP 10k got into the 5k and SHIPPED it.

Decided to play the Party/Borgata 50k…….  After losing half my starting stack in the first level w/ AA, AA, KK, AQ, AQ, i grinded it out to finish 4th.  Had the Chip lead a bunch during FT, but got cooler and donks hits 3 outters. Oh well.

I've now settled into a fairly regular schedule of only  playing 6-7 tourneys a night,  but it is working out well for me due to the preponderance of fish.

P-aire and others, you might want to consider adding the $22R $530 seat WSOP  sattys at 8 and 8:30 to your schedule. There are rearely over 20 runners, and each extra ticket is paid in cash (NOT t dollars), which is a fantastic deal. I have satties 6 times in these already, so obv the fields are super soft. And they end quite early due to the small number of runners.

Well, tomorrow’s the big day, as 3,000+ runners kick off an unprecedented 250K freeroll to start the inaugural WSOP.com championship series of online poker! But I can’t wait for the folllowing Sunday, where likely less than 200 runners play for the same 250K prizepool in the high roller main event (I sattied in). And, to wrap it all up, another 250K freeroll the Sunday after that!

Biggest tourneys in which I have played since Black Friday, so I’m psyched!

Well, day 1 is in the books, and sadly I did not come close to taking down the $38K first prize in the 250K freeroll. But as always, had fun playing the game that I love. And next Sundays first place prize will dwarf this one!

Tomorrow's the big day: the $250K main event! $530 buy in so there won't be that many runners. As much as $70K to first. Gl to all playing, including myself!

Currently playing in the last 250K freeroll of the WSOP online series; no cashes in the series so far, so somewhat disappointing for me, but I enjoyed playing nonetheless. However, I am on the top-10 leaderboard on the last day of Party Poker's first online series, a micro turbofest, so I will likely receive some cash for that, though I probably won't notch first place, which is a cool $5,000 WPT entry package! Not bad for a series where the abi was $3!

Now that the series is over, thought it is only March, WSOP is startig it sattys for the World Series of Poker, including the main event. Could not be more psyched! Good times here in NJ, and hopefully other states soon!

TOTALLY AGREE w/ Mike.  Super excited that this weds Mike or I are going to win our way into either the WSOP Main or any of the $1500 events.

I didn't cash in any of the WSOP Champ events, although the 50k ran deep and got coolered QQ<AA, then finished 2nd in the 10k nightly which wasn't a bad way to end the night.

Very happy w/ my game right now.  My volume has been really lite, but that's ok.

Well, last night's first shot at WSOP Main & $1500 seats went down the toilet.  I had a top 10 stack in the MAIN satty for a while.  We were really deep, but it got shallow kinda quick after the rebuys were done.  Played well, just got unlucky and lost a few pots.  But couldn't win the flip 44 vs AQ.  Seems like I have been missing EVERY flip the last two weeks. But thats ok.
