The European's are now casualties of Black Friday.

I would reserve judgement on whether or not this is a deathblow for FT, but it certainly is bad news. It appears that the commission that controls their gaming license (Aldernney Gaming Control Commission) has issued a suspension (not a revokation) based on dealings with the USDOJ and information resulting from investigations. It isn't clear what they have found or what information they acted on (if it was the original Black Friday accusaitions or if there is new developments). The official announcement from the AGCC says there will be a special hearing on this, although there has not been any indication when or whether it will be public or not. As a US player the situation has been a continued source of frustration as I have a good part of my former bankroll stuck there and I am starting to get to the point where I don't believe it is coming home. For my international poker bretheren I am sorry that this mess has now made it to your doorstep. I hope for all in the communities sake that the funds can be turned back to the players. We will always find somewhere to play, but funding is never infinite and bankrolls don't grow on trees or sprout from the ground.

*** UPDATE: it appears from the AGCC public statement that the hearing will be July 26th, 2011 in London so at minimum it would appear that nothing will happen or be playable on FTP until the outcome of the hearing on that date. ***

Any updates. I have been off the grid lately because I have been busy with my new house. However, I did see on facebook Card Player said someone bought FTP and it is actually good news for US payouts. Any thoughts?

It appears that a European group of investors has bought or is in the process of buying the company with a $100 million in cash which is intended to be used for US player repayment. Ivey has dismissed his lawsuit, but another pro has filed a class action suit, but I haven’t seen any details yet on that one. In theory this is a great step for US players, provided that the hearing at the end of July goes favorably and FTP is allowed to process payments, both in and out again.
