Hello to all TPE members,
I plan to share with you a small poker project-goal I have started!!!
Short introduction, I am a casual (LOOSING) poker player, mostly because I never kept a BR and when i went bankrupt I was loading another $100 etc etc… jumping to different buy in's out of my comfort zone …
These were the bad news, the good news is that in the 180man $4,5 at PSTARS I am doing quite ok,
so the plan :
Play 1,000 sng's within October and see how good I can do with that.
I wil update every 250 games and share my progress with this goal !
I will also try to post as many hands as possible to our forum, so you guys can give me some great feedback!!!
Soooo let's start

Thank you very much Liverpool015,
However, I did some calculations and I need to correct the completeion date (1K games) to a realistic one
which should be mid-end of November, as I expect to play aprox 650-700 games within October.
My intnention is not so much the volume but good results+volume…
I keep you posted,
Cheers to all!

first of all good luck obv. im also an overall (casual) losing player even with some cashes and small scores at the low limits i play.
im very interested in ur progress. ive moved between low limit cash, sngs, and mtts trying to find a groove. never stuck to just one which i think is a prob of mine as i keep losing small deposits regularly. trying to stick to mtts now. im interested to know if you have a day job and are still planning on putting in this volume or u have the free time? also curious as to if any tpe vids ur planning to use to fill leaks if any. some progress graphs would be great. hopefully they track in mostly a vertical direction!!
anyway all the best of luck may ur BR grow with ur devotion

Hey guys,
thank you all for reading the post and also for the positive comments/posts from some of you 🙂
So time for an update!
things are not as great as I have expected but I have many excuses for this (joking)… and ofc I am still need to improve my game alot!!!
To give you a small summary, currently i am sitting on the following stats:
Stakes | Tag Count | ROI% | ITM% | VPIP | PFR | 3Bet |
$4.50 | 347 | 1.0 | 9.5 | 20.8 | 15.3 | 7.4 |
Any of you guys that has some good knowledge over the VPIP/ PFR /3bet for the 180mans
I would be gratefull to give us some feedback on a range of the optimum numbers (for sure i need to improve them).
A graph I managed to get from HM2 is like this:
Well there have been ups and downs and especially a big downsizing.
Playing intensively many games (for me) I can give some comments/feedback of how I percieve these games:
- If you go more than 8-10 games, its very easy to loose focus and as a result loose good spots, which they might look insignificant if you multitabling and have a BR of like >100buy ins but trust me it can make a difference in the mid run, e.g. at what point you call the all-in with your AQoff ? if we are like down to 10bb-12bb I guess its easy, but what if you loose focus (as i did more than once) and call one of the regs shove with 22-24 bb………? 🙁
- Flaging the Regs is huge advantage imo,so you can either avoid them at certain cases or push them… also if possible writting some fast comments can be helpfull.
- I am using HM2 which helps me follow up on regs stasts/behavior and also after like 50-60hand in mid stages have an idea of the table image of the rest table opponents.
- BR managment, as mentioned in my first post, I was like the worst ever player keeping a BR… but this time you know what? it wokred out good, I had this terrible terrible drop of like 80-90games down with no FT and just few ITM finished, but keeping the BR rules helped me overcome it (for now 😛 ) manytimes the game can get you ''crazy'' loose control and $$$$….
- Leaks leaks and leaks, there is no discussiong that my numbers are poor and I am trying to work on my most important game leaks and even stop bad habbits like chating on skype with my gf while having 5 tables on, or watching tv.. a cobination of all the above lead to this downsizing you see in the chart.
- It's difficult not just to bring A game everyday, but being fully concentrated over a period of like 8hours+ if you do this like 5-6 days/week its really tough
- Also to reduce a bit the routine/boredom, playing couple low buy in MTT's (Big) helps

hey u finished in the black right. maybe not the profit u were looking for, but profit none the less. how many games was this? is it the TAG # 347?
are u taking any breaks through the day? this might help ur concentration, and also i know its funny but a diet can hugely effect ur performance.
i changed my eating habits and lost 29 lbs in two months and have way better stamina an mental clarity. PM me if ur interested in some of my diet changes. anyway good luck and cant wait for ur next progress report. i also like u am laid off work for a few months but have not put the effort into poker that i would like due to other personal issues taking up my time. maybe i need a poker project of my own. cant wait till u start crushing the 180's gl man.

Hey mfgjensen, thank you very much for your post, yes indeed the above stats were at 347 games.
What I am currently doing is grinding from aprox 18:00 CET till 02:00, the peak of these games is at period of time, meaning that every 15-20min a new tourn begins, I am trying to keep something like 8-10max tables running untill 22:00 then focus on the ones that I am running good till 02:00-02:30 and hopefully some FT's .
For the breaks thing, I just have the 5min breaks every 1h, maybe get some fresh air, water etc.
I also agree for the diet but also for working out, running !! When the weather was good here… (not anymore) running outside in the morning, could bring me to my best mental point before grinding during afternoon-evening…
Its a fun journey and I am still learning here, the most important for me is to have a challenge and a goal for the 1K games and see where this will result!
Good luck at the tables.
