I’ve been in this situation for a while, but I’m finding it hard to build a bankroll playing MTTs. Recently I’ve been a bit careless (intentionally), but it has really hurt my bankroll (of course :D). Now I’m down below $50. I’m wondering if you or anyone reading this post have a suggestion to what is the best way to rebuild the bankroll? I guess where I have done best previously is by grinding 6-max SnG turbos because my push/fold game is decent. Does anybody have a better suggestion?

I am also 25 in which I have gone down the exact path you have. I currently manage a gym but dont see myself doing this for long and absolutely love poker. I spent a ton of time working 1 v 1 with coaches through a number of different poker formats. If your bankroll is $150 the first thing to ask is why are you playing poker? Are you playing just to pass the time because its fun or are you playing to build your bankroll in hopes to live off what you make one day. Are you looking to have that one huge score from an MTT that sets you up for a while or do you enjoy grinding smaller stakes. As mentioned I played cash (25NL)/12 tabling to just MTT and PLO. Finally I decided that my goal is to build a bankroll with enough profit to cashout for living expenses etc. In doing so I dont have 8 hours a day to play MTT so I have turned to Turbo SitnGo’s. Can play easily 10-15 a day before or after work and have a decent score if I win. I think sticking to one format which is work your while and at the same time actually achievable is a better way to go.
On a side note- I mix in larger MTT on my days off but stick to my stables during the week.

Thanks for your input. My hope was to never deposit again. Although I would love to do this for a living, my main goal is to do well enough to have a secondary income.
I recently had great success playing $10 HU Super-knockout. I almost always break even, and often enough make it to the money. My bankroll is now at 350, and it feels right to continue doing this for a while. I also play a lot of 180-man, but when my bankroll was so low I had to play something with lower variance. Now I’m going to play a lot of these two types of tournaments. And put in MTTs, mainly knockout, when there’s time.
