Who I am:

I started playing online poker around 2005.  I was a losing player until 2008 when I signed up for a training site.  Months before Black Friday I really started to turn a profit, unfortunately most of BR was on FTP.  I took a break from poker for the next year and finished my college degree.  When I graduated in May 2012 I got a job as a web developer and that is where I am at right now.  My job is not bad, but I still feel unfulfilled.  April and May of this year, I played/ran very well on Bovada and ACR, but I have been downswinging hard in June and July.  I have been a member of TPE before but never for more than a couple months at a time.  This time I plan on taking advantage of the forum and contributing to the community the best I can.

Goal:

Move to Costa Rica after April 1st 2014 (when my lease is up) and grind for minimum of six months.

To accomplish this goal and leave with a bankroll and a life roll that I feel is necessary I need to average $2000/month over the next 8 months.  This would put me in a position to live life, have fun, and not be broke if I fail in CR.

My life outside of poker needs to be nitty as well.  What I mean by that, is that while I have this job right now, I have to be saving every penny possible to help build up my life roll.  $100 bar tabs are unacceptable, eating out every night is unacceptable and buying useless things is unacceptable.  Half of every pay check will be put into my life roll.  I want to live a much simpler life, that's why I wanted to move to Costa Rica in the first place.

I will watch a minimum of 10 videos per week.

Post hands as often as I can.

Comment on hands that I see in the forum.

LISTEN to others and try to learn from everyone.

1 day per week minimum I will review hand histories and try to find my leaks.

TPE:

Even though I haven't been a member for a long time on this site, I do listen to all the podcasts and I know this is by far the best site for tournaments (I have been a member of a lot of different ones).  Besides that, I know that there are good people here who are ready to help and want to see us succeed.

Conclusion

My mind is pretty much made up that I am going to do this.  If I wanted to I could leave right now but I want to do the right thing and build more so there is less pressure on me when I do leave.  I have my degree to fall back on if I fail.  But if/when I get there, no matter how long I last, it will be worth it to me no matter what the outcome is.

Thanks guys. LETS GOOO! spade

Good luck. I have kind of the same dream. Vacationed in CR the last couple of years and absolutely love it there.

In the same boat, working on my game (still break even but improving and getting serious about working on it).

Worried about no safety net as the economy is so screwed up here. Been at the same job 18 years and would probably have trouble getting back in if I took a year off. Only live once though. Might go all in with a 401k cashout and take my chances.

Nice, good luck! My few friends were there for few months, they said it was amazing.

A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work.
