I was wondering if I should post this or not because it is not about tournaments, but I thoght I would just so I can keep myself working towards this.  Basically my friend and I had a bet on wether or not I could win $1k playing 50nl in November.  Basically I needed to prove that tournament players were not donkeys and could be profitable at small stakes cash.  Anyway the bet has been going super well, I have been running really well and playing at least okay and have made $720 over 10k hands so far.  Variance happens though, and I need to be prepared to put in a lot more hands cause I hear that 14/BB per 100 hands isn't sustainable even at 50nlcry  Wish me luck!

Good luck man. Show them ring game monkeys lol. Btw, 14 BB/100 may not be sustainable but it sure as heck feels good huh?

Nice. Unless he has KQ or AK that line doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

I think he might get you to fold if the turn goes check/check and then he puts out a value bet sized river bet.

yeah, that would make me press the fold button, he just c-bets 100% on flop, and same on turn, so river doesn't make sense unless he hit a king on the turn, which is a small percentage of his range compared to what he should be 3-barreling here.  I have the A and Q blockers giving him less value combos of AK and KQ as well so it seems pretty standard imo.  Also I know he is capable of this, as he is a pretty big winner at these stakes, idk why he thought my play was bad and got so mad at me.

Good luck on the challenge, looks like you've almost made it. I have been doing something similar since 1st October and have turned $200 into almost $2000. Not just cash games though, won about $650 in two tournament cashes but the rest in cash games. My goal is to reach $2500 by end of November by grinding 4-table 25/50c tables on PKR.

thanks for the good lucks guys.  Well, I am proud to say I completed the challenge and showed all of those cash game donks what's what.  I ended my last session at + $1,077.  I also played only 11k hands, so I know I ran well and all but still I feel like I got way the best of this prop haha.  Tournament players FTW!!!

20 buyins in 11k hands of 50NL is definitely doable with some run good and some good play. Sounds like you had both. Good job!

Anytime you wanna play some 200NL or 400NL let me know. 😛

Yep. Just business as usual. Cash can be pretty sick in terms of just how much huge volume you can have big heaters, breakevens, downswings, etc…you have to be bankrolled deep I think. Here was today's session for me, pretty standard to be honest:

As long as you're bankrolled well and comfortable where you're playing then there isn't much to worry about, just grinding through the runbad and analyzing your play to make sure you're doing well. But if you're used to tournaments you should be used to wanting to pull your hair out! 🙂

Good luck!

Pete
