Hello TPE here's my 2011 Goal / Challenge thingie! Maybe others want to join in?

Here we go, all rankings and ratings are for Pokerstars.

–  2010 I had an OPR rank of approx. 38,000 out of 1.9 million and a 98.00 % even rating. Significantly better than my previous couple years of playing and this (mostly) resulted from fixing a nasty little tilt problem I had.

[2011 OPR Main Goal: To rank higher than my previous year and achieve a higher rating. Secondary goal: Crack the top 20,000 and finish the year there]

– 2010 I finally had a good, profitable year on Sharkscope relative to the stakes I play ($4 average).

[2011 Sharkscope Main Goal: Reach $1500 profit from Sit and Go's, and $3000 from All Games (Tourneys + Sng's).]

These are pretty modest goals but I am a part time player with a full time job and family obligations. Hopefully I can smaaash these and do much better but I will be satisfied with meeting them.

…And finally, the MAIN goal for 2011: To improve as a player. Regardless of any monetary results I think this should be any poker players true aspiration. I plan to play this game in some capacity for a long time to come so if year after year I continue to improve, good things will happen 🙂

GL at the tables and with any poker goals you may have set!

Sitting at 33,987 of 1,156,608 and a 97.06% rating on OPR. Running like crap since my $3 8-max win exactly one month ago. Down about $100 since then. In the past two weeks numerous huge pots deep in tournaments where I was a nice favorite went wrong. Oh well, hopefully the cards will fall in my favor again soon. I was pleased that the beats, though upsetting for a few minutes afterwards, did not effect my play. I'm still up about $500 for mtt's for the year but I'm on roughly a 500 game breakeven run in sng's. I think I was playing too many turbos, which I feel dissolve into crapshoots too quickly. I'm now playing almost exclusively non-turbos for my 1 table sng's. I need about $950 more profit to hit my Sharkscope “All Games” goal, and about $600 for the “Sit and Go” goal. I've been putting in more volume lately and will most likely achieve Silverstar for the first time in 2011 this month. My new goal is to keep at least Silverstar each month, playing almost exclusively sng's and mtt's, all with a buy in of $6.75 or lower, mostly $3 games. So this will ensure I get a good amount of volume in every month. I'm having fun playing and am getting more into poker than I've been in a long time, so I think my goals for the year are definitely attainable. Anyway, that's it for now. I plan on posting an update once in awhile, mostly to keep myself focused on my goals.

Yeah so Mr. Inconsistent here for an update lol. I am conscious of how people seem to get all motivated and goal-focused come new year and then within a few months– *poof* it all fizzles out. And I told myself, “I am not going to do that this year”. And yet thats exactly what happened. The past few months I have not played much and also did not study much. I think “Black Friday” and some life stuff I had going on played a part in this. The quality of my play went down quickly (I could blame it on running bad, but at best it was a combination of the two). My 120 day OPR rating slipped down to like 74% or something. However, I had a really good night about a week ago. Almost simultaneously finished 4th and 1st in two 180 $3+R's, both with only the minimal one rebuy, one add-on invested. Gave my roll, my 2011 goals, and my outlook on poker a much needed boost.

As of tonight: 37,026 of 1,428,914, 97.41% rating on OPR for 2011.   Sharkscope SNG profit: $1,076 (Goal $1500) All games: $2,411 (Goal $3000)

So my goals are back on track all of a sudden. I've also been dabbling with live play, as a new (and the only) casino opened in my home town. I played 3 sessions of 1/2 NL Holdem so far, lost $120, lost $80, and then won $750. Might sound funny but 1/2 is a little too big for me right now I think. They also run $75 and $100 tourneys which I think I will eventually start playing.

I plan on ramping up my volume and watching more vid's + reading more threads etc now. I've also recently made some lifestyle changes that I think will positively impact my game. So hopefully I can meet and exceed the goals I set earlier this year. Main thing now is CONSISTENCY! Haha, anyway gl at the tables to all the other TPE players!
