My dad posted this on his Facebook this morning. Gave me chills. Pretty sure we have some members who are serving,or have served, so just wanted to take a moment to say thanks.
“It was '68 and I was in Chi Lang, Vietnam as we prepared to make our push into Cambodia. The first 122 mm rocket slammed into our compound somewhere around 3 AM. Dozens, perhaps hundreds would follow. At first light the Dustoffs would begin evacuating the dead and dying. To those who served that day, and the days before and after, Bless you.”
As a 10 year veteran, with 4 deployments, and more than 1/2 my time in the Army spent overseas, I appreciate the gratitude shown by those such as yourselves.
To my brothers in arms, and the families of those who have served, I salute each of you. May you live long, prosperous lives, and may you enjoy the freedoms you've so willingly fought to preserve.
Sergeant First Class E.
