i thought i would share a very interesting time i had on july 4 in Las Vegas last week, i was invited to tpe family friend mike hunsucker 4th of july party it went off like ive never seen as most partys i attend are like 550$ wsop circuit events and this was a wpt 10k to put it into a poker perspective lol, as the day grew on and into the early evening there was a younger guy that was throwing the pigskin around with a few others and a took notice to some of his circus like catches and as a former highschool football player i could tell this dude had game. my wife and i were hanging by the pool and hot tub and him and his sister came over for a dip so i had to comment on some of the grabs and asked him if he played college and he told me he did but just quit to follow his real passion of boxing wel let me just say at 37 years old i grew up in the pre ufc era so the sweet science is still a big sport in my life, i was like thats awesome bro im a huge fan of the sport and him and i starting talking boxing back and forth for about a half hour and he sees i have a love for it at this point i ask him his name and he says D'Amato i say im tim nice to meet you and i carry on about boxing and i dont put 2 and 2 together as his name doesnt register with me at this point (almost embarresing to call myself a boxing fan not reconizing the name) so i start talking about growing up in the 80s and how being 1 of 4 boys growing up we were always scrapping and we all loved boxing and wrestling and how mike tyson was hands down the kelly boys favorite and im going on and on about every fight i watched of tysons and how at 12 years old i finally beat mike tyson on nintendos mike tysons punchout and how my friends and i took pictures of the tv screen with me beside it thinking i must have been the first kid in the world to have done it and we mailed the pictures to nintendo well D'Amato starting laughing at me and i starting laughing it was funny and then he drops the bomb on me, he says i can see the pasion in your eye man and ive got something to tell you and he says i dont tell many people this im like ok shoot he says to me as he extends his right hand to me for a shake and says im D'Amato Tyson and Mike tyson is my dad and i nearly shit my pants but dont worry nation i didnt and we just carried on drinking and hanging and it was just ultra cool. D'Amato Tyson is pursuing a boxing career so watch out for him in the near future. Gus D'Amato was mike tyson boxing everything trainer mentor father like figure and D'Amato tyson is named after him super cool moment in my life glad i could share it with the tpe nation
