Hey there guys,

Ive been playing poker online since the year 2012, when I was living in New Zealand and met this german guy that played professionally in Argentina in the mid 2000's. He told me that there were thousands of professional poker players around the world and that it was a valid way to earn a living if you're in your twenties and feel like travelling the world (that's exactly my case!!).

Since that day I commited myself seriously to poker and started studying, playing and trying my best to become a pro someday and be able to relocate somewhere in the world to live as a true baller.

I open this thread to share experiences and talk about this. Any of you is living abroad playing poker? Anyone has any plans on doing it soon? Where would you relocate? What things you consider the most important when it comes to chosing a country to relocate to play? How much income you think you'll need to survive only from playing (this is obviously country-dependent, but a general guideline could be useful)? Do you think there's a type of game more valid than other to do this?

I dont plan on doing this until a couple years from now, still a long way to go, but Id like to collect some advice and information to make the wisest choice when the moment comes.

I know for sure that when I do this Id love to relocate to live with some other poker players, not by myself. This is for many reasons: to avoid feeling lonely living miles away from home, to keep on learning from your colleauges, to share information, stacking, etc, to have a symphatetic ear, to live with people that share your lifestyle and your interests, etc.

Considering this, do you think it would be possible to have something like a “joint bankroll” where each player chips in with some money and some days all of the players living at the house play together and share earnings? Would you do this everyday? Why yes/not?

Really looking forward to hear your thoughts on this!
