Ok currently i play on my DELL XPS M1210 which is 12″ inches and i have an old monitor from another older computer that is 16″ inches.

I want to have a set up with 2 monitors in the 20-25″ inch range, with another another computer strictly for poker playing.  I have an old tower that if i bought all the 'new' parts needed, a friend could put together a computer for me, or should i just go by one thats on the 'cheaper' side.

Any suggestions on relatively cheaper monitors that are good for poker?

Does your Dell have HDMI output or PC adapter output. Most new TVs have HDMI and/or PC input. I play on my Samsung 40″ via my Thinkpad and I love the setup, plus it is portable when I need it to be.

I am terrible w/ tech.  How would i go about doing this?  It would be cool to be able to tile 6 tables without having to get prescription glasses.

Let me know the model number of your computer and I will check to see if you can hook up to a TV.

…..html#specs

^^^Yeah man you are hurting when it comes to this laptop

He cannot hook up to a TV with this laptop.

If your friend is building your PC, then you are fine (I am assuming he knows how to do it). However, if he doesnt check this out.

^^^This dumbs it down. And fwiw, this site is CLUTCH.

If you need any help, feel free to PM me or reply. I will say this if you want two monitors you are gonna need an above average graphics card (2 ports) or 2 graphics cards (probably gonna get better performance with just 1 awesome graphics card)

This “lag” could be your connection but you also have 1GB of Ram and depending on what OS you have, along with other programs you may be running this laptop is going to drag ass.

How do you normally sit your laptop? Does it have room to breathe? (asking why it gets hot)

KB recommends this monitor in his holiday gifts for poker players article: …..ift-ideas/

Hanns-G 28” LCD Monitor
This is the best value I have been able to find for a 28”+ monitor. If someone is still grinding away on a 15” laptop, or even a 19” desktop monitor, nothing will alter their playing experience like extending their desktop on to a nice big LCD monitor. This could require a little research because you want to make sure their video card supports the monitor you decide to buy, but if it is a newer desktop or laptop, chances are that it does.

I have it…it works great.

^^I like that monitor but why not a TV? You get to use the monitor or use it as a TV.

…..tID=723957

^^Go ahead and shell out another 30 to get more inches ( 😀 ).

It has HDMI, VGA(standard monitor input), Composite (for a satellite or gaming system ..if you dont use HDMI that is)…Its a Vizio (quality company)

No matter what you choose tho, you will wish you had got this or waited longer to get this. Just make sure you put alot of time into researching what you want for your needs.

i would have to say it gets hot because it is old.. prolly doesnt really have much room to 'breathe' i just sit it ontop of books, next to my other monitor.
