Hey all,
Any of you American poker gods interested in coming down to
Costa Rica to play and train for a bit this summer?
In a nutshell, I own a small bed and breakfast and tour company in Costa Rica. It is our slow season in which I have more time to commit to poker and I have a small bankroll in which I want to grow….
I am looking for an easy going person who plays for a living that might want a little change of scenery in which to play in. I have two two high speed providers, a place to stay, we can check out volcanos, waterfalls, the beach as well as maybe hit a live tournament or two. What I am looking to get out of it is to be able to watch you play, ask some questions etc and try to learn something.
So if you are an easy going, nice, winning player (no arrogant A-holes please) who wants to come check out Costa Rica on the cheap, play some poker, see some sites and have some fun, PM me and we can chat more about it.
Cheers,
Denny

That is such a tempting offer, wish I had the oppurtunity to play more, but since “black Friday” the online options have been slim for me, at the beginning of 2011 everything started to click. However, I will have to keep you in mind for a future vacation, I have heard Costa Rica is wonderful.

Thanks Ultra for the info. Funny thing…. He is on the cover of June's of Poker hispano magazine that I had lying in the back of my jeep that I hadn't had time to check out yet.
He is in the USA right now but I will get in touch with him When he returns. From his blogs, he isn't too far from me.

Thanks Hawkeye! You are a great guy too. It was great to meet you in Vegas… It's just too bad we couldn't chat more. I think I was re-living my teen years with all that Crown Royal that was on the table…
Perhaps a visit to Costa Rica???!! wind down, chill, maybe see what a pokerstars table looks like again!!

I'm tempted by Costa Rica. My dad went down there to look at places when he thought Sara Palin was going to be President.
But correct me if I'm wrong, a player coming down and staying at a B&B wouldn't be enough to establish residency and get to playing on Stars again, correct?

No, you can't get residency that easy but Americans and Canadians get a 90 day visa automatically and then you have to leave for 3 days and return. There are tons of people that live here without having residency. As far as playing PokerStars goes, I don't remember if I needed to give my passport when I deposited on it or just name address etc. There are a few Americans here playing but I am not sure if they have their accounts in their local girlfriend's name or if its needed. I will ask.
