For those looking to upgrade monitors, I just ordered this:

…..6824254052

I’ll provide a review once i get a chance to try it out, but from what I can tell, this is a pretty great deal ($279 shipped) for a monitor of this size.

Basically, this new monitor is a beast.  You would not think going from 22″ to 28″ would make a huge difference, but the ability to fit your tables more comfortably on the screen is super nice.  I cant get 12 on here quite comfortably.  And 9 is a breeze.

I probably only have one complaint about it, and it is a VERY minor one.  The speakers in the monitor do not sound very good.  But again, that is very minor and almost not even worth mentioning.

Pretty tough to beat the price on this, so if you are looking to upgrade to a 28, I highly recommend snapping this up!

sweet..glad its worth the buxs!  As far as speakers….I have yet to find a monitor that has speakers worth a damn. I use a head set or a surround sound set up.

Hey Killingbird

Can you get some pics up of your 'beast' of a monitor? I'm thinking of getting one, but would like to see how it handles 9 and 12 tables. Also, how did you connect it to your PC? Is it VGA or DVI?

Cheers, MisterGJ

Here we go!

I switched setups again.  Essentially i just close my laptop and connect to external monitors.  the middle one is a 28″ and the one on the right is a 22″.

I basically run one of the VGA and one of the HDMI.

Loving the new set up.  So much room to work!

I was thinking about getting a 2nd monitor, do you need to install any kind of program to run both monitors at the same time

no.  you need a video card which can handle it.  Most computers sold today come with video cards that can easily handle it.  You just need to go into display properties and enable a 2nd monitor.

Most being the operative word here. Damn Dell :/

I might do a 28″ monitor. I never go with more than 9 tables so that would do the trick.

yeah, no more than nine tables just having the 28″ for your tables and then your laptop screen to AIM, eamil and whatever else you have to do would be fine i i think.

That is crazy setup KB, love it! I am using a 40″ Samsung TV for poker with my iMAc showing TPE videos while I play. I find if I watch TPE videos when I make bad calls or get sucked out on I am destracted from tilt.

Would anyone here consider playing poker on a large LCD TV? Say 30″+? I'm thinking about getting a new TV for the living room, but am looking at this 28″ monitor as well so wondered if I could combine the two and buy an LCD TV that could do both jobs. There's a 37″ one I've seen with 1920×1080 which would fit 12 minimum size PS and FT tables. However, would the text (stack and pot sizes) look blurry cos the pixels would be so much bigger (37″ compared to 28″)? Would I just have to sit further from the screen?

I am currently using a 40″ Samsung as my primary monitor hooked up to a laptop. I love the setup!

I recently invested in a new hp 2010i monitor and it works great….sometimes.  I'm not sure if it's the monitor or something with my laptop (also hp …about 7months old) but whenever the monitor is connected it will go from working great to freezing up my whole system.  The screen's just go blue and say something about dumping physical memory to prevent data loss execution or something like that…. pisses me off to no end… couldn't find out anything from hp support.  Anybody know why this might happen?

Maybe insufficient RAM or a crappy vid card?

The issue sounds like a PC/laptop issue, not a monitor issue.

Did you need to get a VGA adapter or anything like that for the monitor?

I don't usually multi-table so I am sure the way I set it up is poor but you should get an idea. I took the picture from my bed, I am very lazy and lay when I play.
