Playing in my first ever league this year at the age of 24. I follow football outside of my hometown team/division (Lions/NFC North) in a passive half-ass way at best. I'm also double f%^&ed this year because we'll be drafting while I'm on the road for a tournament.  I've done pretty much zero research and these guys are all hardcore.

Can anyone offer advice on picks, places to research players, etc? I'm not at the level where I'm going to pick a kicker in round 1 but I also don't have much more of a clue than that.

check som mock drafts.  taht will give you an idea of where alot of players are tending to go.

Frankly, you could pick almost based exclusively on this (with a few adjustments for your leagues scoring system) and o pretty well..

theres a site called Lindys Sports online. the put out a fantasy football mag with a ton of info. last years issue cost me $7.99 US. im sure u could find it at a newstand in Windsor. it should really help. also one big thing to keep track of is injuries/and their severity to players as the draft approaches. good luck

Good Day,

I just started to play on DraftKings. You can go their and look at all the players stats, ratings, matchups for the week, last years stats totals, injuries, etc.
Are you playing in a season long pool or weekly pools?

Grow some Balls and get it in

Find an expert you like (Jamey Eisenberg and Dave Richard at CBS for me) and get their Top 200 rankings. If you don't deviate from BPA on their list you'll end up with a pretty decent team.

Post your league settings (how many people in your league, # of starters at each position, if there's a flex, ppr, pts for QB TD's, etc) and people can give you more specific advice.

#1 is RBs trump all. You need running backs and a lot of them. Running backs get injured more than any other position and there is the biggest drop off in tiers. Most teams use 3WRs frequently these days. That's 96 WRs getting touches every week. There are pretty much only 32 RBs getting a consistent amount of carries and you probably start at least 2 every week. Also, WRs are a lot easier to find on waivers than RBs for that exact reason. Anytime a starting RB gets injured someone will either own his backup already or everyone will rush to try to pick him up.

The best advice is probably to just do as many mock drafts as you can before the real one. You'll see what rounds players are getting drafted in and get an idea of the flow of a draft. Not panicking when it's your turn and the 3 guys you wanted all got sniped right before you pick is something that only comes with practice.

Also didn't notice the ninja bump and that this post is really old. If you've already drafted post your lineup.

The team was pretty much auto drafted for me, as the draft was happening while I was in the Hard Rock $10MM. The only move I made was dropping my injured TE and picking up Dallas Clark for $1.

It's a PPR league which means my team is in decent shape with my WRs, and my FLEX is DeSean Jackson who faces a terrible defense in Week 1.
